The loud sound of the gunshot quickly woke her up from her sleep...
She breathe heavily, and quickly placed her right arm on her pounding heart....,she look around wondering if he was in the room, there she realise it was just a dream, why does he keep taunting her even after he was dead.., when will he leave her to live in peace...

She can never live in peace, she knew that for a fact, Carlos destroyed her life, killed every life she molded for herself when she was a kid.., after the dead of her parent, she had lived for revenge, to avenge their death and restore back what was taken from them.., she finally did it, she killed the bastard but it had made her restless..

Her heart skipped for a moment when a knock came on the door.., jolting back to reality, she stood up from the couch and trot towards the window.., she peep, she sigh, a sigh of relief when she saw who was knocking..

She hesitated a bit, her dream hitting her again as if someone delivered a fatal blow to her face...

Slowly, she unlock the door..

"Are you okay..?kess ask when he noticed her expression..

She didn't reply, she just left the way so he can walk in..
She quickly close the door when he was in.., she knew after what she did, living in his house was a risk, a risk he knew but willing to take...

"You don't seem fine.., did someone come here..?

"No.. "She said faintly.. "I was sleeping, your knock woke me up.. "

He didn't believe, the few days she had stayed with him, he had study her and he knew damn well when she was lying but he wasn't inclined to ask any more questions, she had been through alot but he couldn't get the fact that she admitted to killing Carlos from his head....,that singular act had made her a murderer but he can't arrest her..

Deep down in him he'd wanted the same thing, deep down he'd thought the chief deserve it for everything he did to her and everyone he harmed..

He was a policeman and he'd sworn to bring law breakers to justice.., she took the law into her hands when she killed Carlos but he can't do anything.., this was one woman he will go overboard for.., each day that passes, he feels more attracted to her, he wasn't sure if it's because he pitied her for everything she'd been through..

"How was work..?

Her question jolted him back to his senses..
"Same as always..., we found one of the chief's bodyguards body.., his name was Bobby.. "

"I know that one.. ..,always stick to him like a pest.. "Sonia said

"And i got a new partner... "

"Hope he isn't like the former.. "

He smile.. "Let's hope he isn't.. "

"So who killed him.., i mean Bobby..?

"We don't know yet.., we found his body on the road.. "

"Do you think it was one of Carlos numerous enemies..?

"I wouldn't rule that out, it's true Carlos had so many enemies but he's dead..,who... "He took a pause when he saw the sudden change in her expression

"Has the body been recognized..? She asked with doleful eyes..

"No.., they're still working on that.. "

"Do you think they'll traced his death back to me..?

Kess exhales.. "Look Sonia.., i perfectly understand what you did.., that man hurt you.., i would have probably done the same if i were you.. "

She sniff and a tear dropped from her eye..,then it began to rain down her cheek..

"Yes sir.. "She quickly placed the newspaper she was holding on the table...

The doctor took up the news paper.., he widen his eyeballs surprised at what he saw... "He's a prince..?

"But...,both his parents are dead, his grandfather Carlos is said to be missing, his uncle Dillan is said to has run away from Akpatu after he burnt down the palace, and his grandmother isn't in Akpatu either..

"We can take him to the king... "The nurse suggested

"You think he'll accept him considering what his uncle, Dillan did..?

"He's a kid sir, and am very sure he knows nothing of what happened..."

The doctor sigh... "If you think so, then let's wait a bit, if the woman who brought him here doesn't come back, we'll take him to the king.. "

"And that must be the chief...?

"Yes.., his name is Carlos.., he is the most feared man in this town, but he's been missing recently but i think he's dead.. "

"What about the other men..?

"Those are the other chiefs.., but they're all dead.. "

"And this people..?

"Zara and Bianca.., both are friends who came to the palace together.., Zara had a relationship with Desmond in the past and it resulted to a son, Gerald..,Zara killed Desmond for reasons i don't know yet, she was arrested and taken to the station, there she died..., the truth about her killer wasn't revealed until a few days ago.., a corrupt police officer killed her.., his name is Philip, he's in jail now..

"And this must be Desmond wife..?

"Her name is Claude.., she left for her father's palace after Dillan became king.. "

"What about them..?

"James and Rita.., James was chief Mayo's nephew, Mayo wanted to marry Rita but was disappointed on his wedding day, Rita dump him at the alter.., the chief died that day, stabbed to death at his own wedding..."

"And this women..?

"Edna and Kahefa.., Edna was king Godfrey wife, mother to the Godfrey boys, Kahefa a wife to Godfrey's brother.., unfortunately both are dead, they died in the bomb blast that brought down the palace... "

"And the boy..?

"That's Max, The Godfrey boys cousin.., Kahefa's son.. "

"Everyone here is in one way or another involved in the deaths that has been rocking this town.. "He said turning to face her

"That's true.., but the chiefs started dying when the Godfrey brothers returned to town.. "

"Our first suspect... "He said striking Pious picture with a marker..

"Probably.., there is every possibility he killed or masterminded the deaths of the chiefs, but there is no evidence to tie the murders to him.. "

"There is always evidence...,and sooner or later we're going to find it and when we do, we'll put all this murderous bastards where they belong.., jail for all eternity... "

She smile.. "Lets shake this kingdom to it's very root of existence.... "
