Sequel to the report that about 1.8 million candidates are registered for the 2019 JAMB examination, the examination board has urged candidates to embrace other platforms of securing admission.

It should be recalled that yearly, the approved capacity of all candidates to be admitted into 100level in every Nigerian higher institution is less than 600,000 which is one-quarter (1/3) of the candidates applying for admission this year. This however will make the admission process more competitive and fierce than it was in the previous year.

Candidates are thereby urged to apply for alternative programmes such as IJMB and JUPEB in order to gain more grounds. These programmes are approved and certified to run for 7-9 months, wherein candidates are Lectured base on the approved 100level syllabus for all departments and the results are accepted in every universities in Nigeria as a requirement for Direct Entry Admission into 200 Level as recommended in the JAMB Brochure (CHECK JAMB BROCHURE TO CONFIRM - Page 14 (xiv) index 1.0.05)

However, candidates applying into universities such as UNILAG, UNIBADAN and OAU are advised to choose JUPEB over IJMB. This is because IJMB result is accepted in all Nigerian Universities with exception of UNILAG, UNIBADAN, and OAU but JUPEB result is accepted in these universities.
