Job Title: Creative Copywriter
Location: Lagos
Type: Freelance, Contract or Part time

Responsible for brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas into words for articles, advertisements, publications.etc; writes words and text for television commercials, radio, Internet content, jingles, websites, press releases, flyers, treatments, proposals and direct mail literature.
Skills & Competencies
• Good Knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work under pressure

• 3 years of relevant work experience

Job Description
• Discussing the Company's core message and target audience
• Brainstorming visual and copy ideas with other members of the creative team.
• Writing and presenting a few options to creative director
• Modifying copy until the creative director is satisfied
• Overseeing the production phase.
• Meeting with account executives to discuss the company's requirements and core messages
• Familiarizing themselves with the product, target audience and competitor activities in the market
• Brainstorming ideas and concepts for the visual and words with other members of the creative team
• Presenting initial ideas to the creative director, some of which may be rejected or developed into workable concepts
• Writing various copy options, which may be presented to the client as a story board (a consecutive series of frames depicting the script and drawings that may be used)
• Modifying copy until the client is satisfied

Requirements
Applicant's must:
• Be highly creative and imaginative
• Have good written and interpersonal skills
• Work well in a team
• Be able to work under pressure
• Have an eye for detail
• Have an interest in commerce, popular culture, and new advertising trends and techniques.
• Have a minimum of 2 Years working experience in a similar role
• Reside in Lagos
• Not be more than 40 years of age

If you need creative writers, the age is not 27. Take it from me its from 30-35. Stop deceiving yourself with 3 years experience because you guys cannot even pay the person well.
I am an academic content writer and a good one for that matter and having worked with people, I can tell you getting the workforce you need with these requirements is a long thing. Have you considered training your workforce? Or is training for Mobil or Chevron staffs?

I hired over a 100 nairalanders over a two years period and thought them everything I knew. Today, they are fire. All can write at the same expert level, many have moved on to start writing related enterprise from traditional media and journalism to blogging, one is the copywriter of a law firm. Forget it, if the employers are 27 to 30, it's pretty difficult to have the wisdom of 31 to 35.there are things only age and exposure can teach. And it won't even seem wrong when folks like that make these kind of decisions cause the consequences are not known/familiar to them. 30 to 35 generation rocks for life.

We are into music and film industry, so our preferred candidates are those who can develop good concepts, very vast with the trend and sociable and more.

we have also trained others before, but after the effort of giving them training, they leave the Job and use the experience to work for other companies or sometimes break our rules which will lead to the termination of their appointment.
