The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has has delisted 76 exam centres and has also appointed a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to prosecute about 100 persons allegedly involved in various malpractices during the UTME that held between April 11 and 18. The 76 Computer-Based Test Centres were delisted for various infractions during the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, raising fears that results from those centres may be cancelled.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, who confirmed that 76 exam centres across the cross were delisted on Friday in Abuja, also revealed that no fewer than 100 UTME candidates were arrested nationwide by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the police. Speaking on ‘Admissions into tertiary educational institutions in Nigeria’ at the 23rd annual seminar of the Nigerian Academy of Education, revealed that professional writers hid in toilets and later replaced the UTME candidates who pretended they  went to the toilet to ease themselves. 

Though Oloyode did not name the SAN leading the prosecution reportedly for security reasons nor did he did state the day the 2019 UTME results would be released, however he noted that the 76 delisted centres in 2019 were from a total of 741 registered centres, as against 22 delisted centres among 630 registered centres in 2018.

What is big deal in delisting centers or canceling results.
Why should that be a news update after 3weeks from exam date
Prof Salim a former Jamb register in 2003 canceled all results from alaba suru - Iyana iba axis and heaven did not fall. But candidates were aware from day 2 after exam was written.
Prof you have set a standard of releasing results in a week or 3 max. This one is getting too much and this young chaps are getting really worried.
I hope muric won't come out and say results should not be released during ramadan to avoid faithful having heart attack.

I think we should first prosecute all those INEC professors whose works at the just concluded election leave much to be desired.
Am not supporting examination malpractice anyway, but the absurdity can be traced to the ways and manners of the dons.
After the so much stress on the part of diligent students, the university professors will still bastardise the admission process on the alter of nepotism.
Even those who graduate legitimately will still be overlooked for those who are less qualify if there is an instance of job vacancy.

I'm beginning to believe something is definitely wrong somewhere that jamb is not telling us, how can all centre be cancel just because some candidate involved in malpractices.
Each centre have the exam for 6 days with 3 batches each day that's makes it 18 batches in total and you are going to cancel all the centre's exam just because maybe some of the candidate in 2 or 3 batches cheated, their is something fishy jamb is not telling us.

They first said they are screening the exam after that;
they said they are stabilising their server after that;
they said they sense fraud and scammers after that;
they said they want all the candidate to see their result once now;
they are telling they want to cancel 76 exam centre.

JAMB should release result and stop raising the fears of the kids. Some have even written the exam and have forgotten if they participated in it. It is getting longer than usual. It's good you are trying to curb malpractices, however, the conduct of the exam by your own body itself was far from perfect, right from systems going off, lack of power supply, systems logging students out, questions with no answers and the likes. All these are enough reasons for the students to even see you and your body if the results don't favour them as long as they have evidences and witnesses. The schools these students want to go are over-saturated and the work force is over over saturated self....

JAMB promised to make the results available this week. Therefore if today ends without JAMB releasing the result as promised, then the candidates need no soothsayer to tell them that something has happened to their results.

With each day passing, the credibility of JAMB and the result it will eventually release keep diminishing.

JAMB can do whatever pleases it with those involved in the malpractice. But hey, stop toying with the emotions of the innocent candidates.

Prof Oloyode is a no nonsense man. I wish 90% of our institutions and government agencies can have people like him.

I had the opportunity of preparing secondary students for waec and jamb. I can categorically state that over 70% of Nigerian Secondary school students depend on malpractice to pass. If investigation is done into waec and neco the whole nation would be amazed at the rot. I dare say the examination bodies are accomplices to the malpractice.

If Jamb decides to watch all the cctv in ALL the centres they would delist more than 200 centres and arrest more than 10000 candidates. In some centres everyone was free to communicate freely and even make calls and I wonder the purpose of cctv.

I commend Jamb for the investigation so far but that doesn't necessarily stop or halt the release of results. Who says results can't be released and be canceled afterwards?
