Nobody can say or imply that people live forever in the US, because man must die eventually.
But the question is about how and when you die. In Nigeria, things that wouldn't kill people in the US with their advance in healthcare delivery kill thousands on regular basis. There is no wonder, our life expectancy is very much more lower than theirs.

What is the frequency of the "gun violence" and what's the casualty count. You can't just hear, "there is gun violence in the US" and without knowing the statistics, you jump off, comparing it to Nigeria's insecurity issues.
Everyday in Nigeria, countless number of people are killed by armed robbers, kidnappers, security agencies.
Yesterday my brother told me about a secondary school mate of his, while returning in the evening, he was waylaid by armed robbers and for resisting they shot him in the abdomen, he was rushed to a hospital but they couldn't find a matching blood for him, and he bled to death (what a painful way to die). The same yesterday a colleague going to Portharcourt and he was blocked by armed robbers/kidnappers he tried reversing the vehicle but he couldn't escape and these sons of Belial riddled his body with bullets and hacked him with axe, the only surviving son of his mother who it was said suffered stroke a while back. The rest of the passengers they kidnapped for ransom.
The story of Nigerian's insecurity is a sad tale, and nothing short of horror movie. What about the insecurity in the North, that is another epistle.

there some things that a basic but out of reach for many. You just have to be super rich or a political appointee before you can provide them for yourself, example security, good road, good air that we breath, etc. What you earn here and call it a good paying job could just be for an average worker over there.
