I am considering buying an audi A6,i want everybody that has used audi and is using audi to make contributions to this thread so that intending buyers can learn. I used A6 (2000 model) three years ago and it is one the best cars i have used. The very first audi that i ever used was the commonly audi 80 which was a not a bad car but when i tried the higher and better model A6, it is really out of this world .

I wish we could have good mechanics, especially for the newer ones,

Good thread! keep it up,

this thread should be dedicated to the Audi Guru in the house , Siena!

I have been running, and working on Audi models since 1991.

My first car, a 1981 Audi 80 GL, was an automatic. A great car. Then, I progressed onto a 1985 Audi 80 Sport, which was a 1,8L fuel-injected model. A big improvement over the previous 1,6L GL carburettor model.

Next up was a 1986 Audi 100 CD 2,2L injection. This again was an automatic. It was also the first car I got serious with, in terms of modifying. I converted it to 5-speed manual in a weekend. I later bought a 1980 Audi 200 5T for scrap, removed the 2,2L 5-cylinder turbocharged motor, and installed it into a 100 CD Avant I'd just bought. This I later sold for more than I paid for it, in favour of a 1985 100 CS Quattro. This was my first foray into AWD Audi, and that did it for me. The levels of lateral grip were astonishing, for such a large car. Whilst is was fun to drive, I wanted more. A drunk lady decided for me, by running into the back of my car, whilst I was stationary at a set of traffic lights in Woolwich, South London. My car was written off, and with my insurance pay-out, I purchased another car. A 1987 Audi Coupe Quattro.

More later!

@Siena
That was a great one. The description will even make a die hard ASIAN MODEL fan change her mind.
The first Audi 80 that i used is still being used by my younger ones up till today and the ride is running good.
What kept amazing me is the fact that the car has passed through different hands and it is still sound.
But for you to use a particular make of car for so long means that there is something perculiar about it and that is the essence of this thread.
Since you have been using audi for about 19 years and counting,you are definitely the best person ask questions about it.

thank you for the contribution and keep the thread going

My first car was Audi 80, and it really served me a great deal. I fell in love with the car immediately, even though it took 11months for the car dealer (a friend who did NYSC with me) to deliver the car to me, the only frustrating side of the story.
Apart from that I used that car for more than 4yrs. It was a trusted friend thru out all my many long distance journeys. Never disappointed me once. I gave it as a faith seed to my church. After the audi, I got a mercedes benz. I did not enjoy it as the audi 80 to be honest. I still regret buying that car till date, it wasn't brand new thou' Right now, I use a renault and my audi still beat all of them. I'm waiting for an opportunity to buy another audi, I know the A6 or A4 won't be a bad buy!
