There was nothing almighty about Nokia their only known competency then was in the manufacturing of strong and durable phones, as for innovation they weren't really fantastic, from 3310 to 3330 to 1100 to 2100 not much attraction, and without innovation it was evident they couldn't stay afloat for long. However from inception Samsung have shown innovation and class even though they went to sleep after a while. Remember how R220 samsung & Nokia 3310 compete favourably back then and were like twin phones. If Nokia were that innovative they ought to have completely dominate the market before samsung second coming, unfortunately couldn't. They were displaced within a short time by samsung with serious publicity and push and got back a fair share of the market and also dethrone Nokia in the process as they quickly embrace Android technology, while Nokia was still foot dragging and experimenting with Windows OS until they lost out completely. As for one plus, vivo and oppo this are different brand from same company and none of them can overrun samsung, as for xiaomi it is a capital No. Only Huawei can compete favourably with samsung, but with lack of support from android and the western world they sure can't gain that first spot. Iphone is in a class of it's own just like Zenith bank they have a target category of customer whom they have gain mastery over, you can't overrun or displace them, that's why people can queue for days at their several retail stores to buy their new devices, no other company have such mastery over consumer of their product.

My only concern is this: Will this upgraded smartphone from Oppo, a Chinese company runs on Android OS, or the Chinese owned Huawei OS?
Asking because of the cold war running between the US government and directed at China?

my friend, you are either highly uninformed or a shameless liar. Samsung and Apple don't have this tech already. Samsung has been copying Huawei and Vivo for the past two years. Oppo and Vivo started in display fingerprint since last year abi last 2 years samsung continued to watch and see if it will fail for over a year before they finally copied it this year. Reverse wireless charging was invented by huawei last year Samsung slowly copied it this year and used it to market S10.

U sounded knowledgeable about phones though but obviously u missed it when u gave a NO to xiaomi. I was Samsung enthusiast until I explore the more and discover Samsung doesn't have d monopoly of premium. If what u crave for in phone is performance give it to one plus and if u are customization crazy give it to xiaomi, huawei is awesome but going by the way of apple, security/stock rom. Kindly go on YouTube to check xiaomi mi8 vs Samsung s8+ processor test, also check xiaomi mi 9 vs Samsung S10.
A friend traded Samsung s8+ for xiaomi mi8 and never regretted his decision.
