Mr. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan made a call to the stackholder in the educational sector and the higher rank in the country on the issue of mass failure in secondry school examination {both waec and Neco} and in jamb exams, mr. President made this call to eradicate mass failure in educational sector, he made this good decision with the higher rank in the country and let we patriotic nairalander make ours.
What is the cause of the mass failure in the previous Neco examination?
Who to blame?
What is the way out?

Students in SS I and SS II classes should not be allowed to attempt May/June WAEC, NECO and JAMB exams. They embarrassingly increase the figure of failures often recorded by these exam bodies.  Let there be a special arrangement for those students in lower classes whose parents usually want to merely  "practice" with the finalists because they have the money.  Secondly, the performances of the final year students of each secondary school should be one of those things to be considered before promotion of the teachers, vice principal and principal of such school.  At the state level,  Inspectors of Education, secondary schools, should have their own share of the blame and penalty for  state-wide poor results.  Students who score less than 50% overall should not be promoted right from JSS I.  A situation whereby a student who said 2+1 =5 is promoted to a class where he would be asked 8 +7  is nothing but a disaster.               OMOKEMESI
