My Heart Bleeds For Ibb Supporters. by Ijeleigbo(m): 12:55pm On Oct 08, 2010
In December 1991 state
legislative elections were held
and Babangida decreed that
previously banned politicians
could contest in primaries
scheduled for August. These
were canceled due to fraud and
subsequent primaries scheduled
for September also were
canceled. All announced
candidates were disqualified from
standing for president once a
new election format was
selected. The presidential
election was finally held on June
12, 1993 with the inauguration
of the new president scheduled
to take place August 27, 1993,
the eighth anniversary of
President's Babangida coming to
power.
In the historic June 12, 1993
presidential elections, which most
observers deemed to be Nigeria's
fairest, early returns indicated
that wealthy Yoruba
businessman M.K.O. Abiola won a
decisive victory. However, on
June 23, Babangida, using
several pending lawsuits as a
pretense, annulled the election,
throwing Nigeria into turmoil.
More than 100 were killed in
riots before Babangida agreed
to hand power to an interim
government on August 27, 1993.
He later attempted to renege
this decision, but without popular
and military support, he was
forced to hand over to Ernest
Shonekan, a prominent
nonpartisan businessman.
Shonekan was to rule until
elections scheduled for February
1994. Although he had led
Babangida's Transitional Council
since 1993, Shonekan was unable
to reverse Nigeria's economic
problems or to defuse lingering
political tension. ==

My question for the ibb camp, why was the june 12 elections annulled?
Who killed Dele Giwa??
I thought as much the nigerian constitution states that a man after 65 is beyond working age. Ibb is 70, old man what's your mission in Aso-rock
Ain't a fan of Gej or ribadu or buhari and support no person. But it'd be healthier for Nigerians we see a different person rather than ibb.

Let your heart stop bleeding.
Else you may bleed to death.
For Babangida supporters
"Oun ti won fe je ni ko je ki won gbon"
"Wetin dey wan chop chop no gree them sabi"
Their belly is their Hell.

Re: My Heart Bleeds For Ibb Supporters. by Ijeleigbo(m): 2:07pm On Oct 08, 2010
It still surprises me ibb has the guts to raise his ugly head and signify his interest to rule Nigeria again.
Why should people support ibb?
Don't Nigerians want change? Don't we want to see youths of this present generation to rise to power? Is obama of USA 70yrs old? God damn it!

Even as we want change, not any one of this leading presidential candidates will bring change. PDP = Failure.

PDP is actually a failure but the truth is all other parties don't have the ability to defeat PDP presidential wise. PDP brought corruption to Nigeria no doubt.

During IBB time there was a slogan "Egunje dey for Lagos". Later it was changed to "Egunje dey for every where". God will certainly punish IBB. IBB = B.a.s.t.a.r.d. Yet he has the gut to say he want to rule the MUMUNS. I will advice him not to campaign around. People are very very angry with him. He single handedly brought us (Nigeria) to our knees. God dey sha.

So, if you are not a fan of anyone and you SUPPORT NO PERSON, are you implying that Nigeria will be healthier with No President or something? I am just asking because you added that bit there and it got me thinking what exactly you are trying for with that portion.

There was nothing out of place with his comment; he is simply stating that he would prefer the other candidates over IBB even though he is not too keen on any of them. The key point - he does not want IBB.

i still stand by my word. Amongst all the aspirants who have signified interest, none convinces me but does my opinion count? Naaa! The majority will always win but amongst all, ibb disgusts me. So i rather see someone else than ibb, that's what i mean.

Dude, I don't think I mentioned anything about it being out of place. I asked a question on a particular statement in the @poster's post and would appreciate an answer and not some third degree on why I am not right to do so. Notice, I did not post anything of the IBB angle ! My question is not about that.

wow! With all these wonderful qualities you use to describe ibb what are they actually based on? When he was a military president? Or you just want to say something nice? A complement is never bad

What girl? Please, no need for that . . .  Let us discuss this as mere humans would . . . .

Telling me you don't like IBB is not enough. I have lived through decades of Nigerians telling of how much hate they have for one thing or the other, in the end, the same have gone on to enable the continuation of that which they purportedly  hate.  You've come on here to tell us how much you hate IBB but I wonder if you will not, like so many others, in your hate, blindly give your vote and support  to one of IBB's "Padis", eventually helping keep him "relevant" for longer. Do you understand why the man remains on the Nigerian political scene to this day? It is not because people do not hate him --- many claim to --- but in blindness, many have also supported the rise of IBB "padis" who have in turn helped make sure IBB remain in the picture this long.
