The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, on Wednesday ordered the arrest of the senator who assaulted a woman in a sex-toy shop in Abuja.

DAILY POST had republished a video obtained by an online medium of a Nigerian senator repeatedly beating a lady in a sex-toy shop in Abuja.


Reacting to this, Senator Elisha Abbo claimed the video was distorted, saying that the incident happened on May 11, 2019, nearly three months after he became Senator-elect.

The IG has consequently directed the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, CP Bala Ciroma to provide a personal and round-the-clock supervision of every facet of investigation into the matter.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba in a statement said part of the investigation included the Forensic analysis of the video currently in circulation as well as the actions or inactions of the policeman seen in the video footage.
