Africa’s largest university ICT infrastructure built for the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) by MTN and other corporate bodies as corporate social Investment was commissioned at the institution today, Thursday by the Vice president. For the first time in Nigeria, students and lecturers of a tertiary institution have free access to incredible internet bandwidth provided via fibre-optic cable laid from Lagos to UNN by MTN http://www.businessdayonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14214:unn-gets-largest-university-ict-infrastructure-in-africa-mtn&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=18 This is good news coming from Nigeria. The alumni of this institutions should really be proud of their alma mater. Kudos to the corporate bodies, MTN et al which made this possible. Kudos to UNN. |

That is soooo true! When the whole thing started, we thought it was going to be a joke, but now I can browse with my wifi-enabled phone and lappy in the comfort of my room, free of charge! . Just hope they don't increase the the school fees next year for this sole reason, but by then I'll be long gone! |

Wow! the possibility of a Nigerian University joining the top Universities in the world is a fantastic accomplishment for this country. If this means that students will enjoy free access to the internet it would definitely transform the whole institution. Wish such an opportunity was available back when I was in school, it surely would have made things much easier. MTN, you are too much o. |

@ccollins, you don't need to configure it on your phone.once your phone is wifi_enabled, all you gotta do is search for the network with your phone and browse. But it only works within the school. |

ccollins: Anyone with WIFI-enabled laptops and devices can connect to the internet on any of UNN campuses free of charge. abioila:That is a legitimate fear. Let's just hope the students of the institution and other people in the town will not jam the network with porn downloads and 419 mails! |
