Note the last point, poorly structured sentience. So these are the people into whose hands I'm expected to leave my child and pay this mind blowing fee, nonsense!

So before you even start Primary 1 (aka Year 1), you don spend like 7m.

After all these you go still dey help am with homework

Me, help you with homework after spending 2m per year ?
After year 2 ie 9m, you cannot write a line of code, we will try Free Universal Basic Education
Everybody like to condemn private school but how much does FG spend on some of our dull public uni grads?
The fact that the parents pay in private school and govt pays the bulk in public schools doesn't justify a public grad opting for driving tricycle after huge subsidy on his or her education.
Let's us also speak out against the public system wastage. That one affect us all more.

My good sir... You just erred greatly in your assumptions. First off, I schooled in a public school not because my parents couldn't afford private education... Secondly, I am extremely successful and wealthy for my age and time, which had nothing to do with my background. Infact, a lot of those kids from those posh schools are struggling today as adults, which greatly faults your "inter-connection" line of reasoning...

Now, let me drop some real education into you:...

1. Background (poor or wealthy) is nothing if one lacks the mentality and vision of greatness. Ask Bill Gates. Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, etc... Please, stop miseducating young people.
2. Intelligence transcends formal education, hence, my initial point.
3. I agree with connecting with wealthy people to learn their secrets, but that is not limited to anyone's background... Truth be told, internet and social media have gone a long way in bridging that ancient divide. Please, keep with the times., except you are from the backward North.
4. Finally, there is no limitation in life whatsoever... The only limitation is YOU.

Please, read carefully... And let me know if you require further clarification. Thank you. cool

Bill Gates. Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk all come from well to do backgrounds and attended good schools.

Bill Gates high school was one of the few schools in the world that could afford a computer in the 1970s.

In the Mark Zuckerberg speech he have at Harvard, he was thankful that his parents were well to do so he could drop out of Havard knowing he had options.

Elon Musk's family was one of the elite in South Africa.

The only billionaire that came from a poor background that I know of is Oprah Winfrey. Others had crazy opportunities that many didn't have.

Not making an excuse for anyone. Just pointing out facts.

My good sir, I know that... But, that is not the crux of my submission... I could easily bring up examples of greater individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, but that's unnecessary, and you know it...

Every child will never have the opportunity to attend Ivy league institutions, except fortunate and brilliant enough to get scholarships... But, that doesn't mean they won't hit the same strides as the ones with such privileges.

Truth be told, the examples y'all keep giving are just few out of the number of privileged kids... How about many more that had the same opportunity, and still remained mediocre?...

Such schools are great, and provide financial exposure, but true genius for greatness is without borders...

Please, let's not over flog this matter... Every child deserves the best his parents can offer, but background should never be an excuse for failure in life... If it all came down to academic background and exposure, then aristocracy would have survived the 19th century.

Now I understand you well. You're right. Low-income people now have more opportunities than before to succeed. Thanks to the internet and other inventions that have bridged the knowledge and connections gap.

It is not about the degrees brother. The question is, do they pay those teachers well? In the school I teach, we have about 106 teachers, many of whom are have doctorates. Others are on the programme. No job in this country, so you will soon see professors professing in secondary schools, it won't be by choice, but a matter of can't-help.
