The popular term “mobile phone” has the word “mobile” in it for a reason. Anything that is said to be mobile can be carried or easily moved from place to place.

That is no longer the case when our phone batteries don’t last as much as we want it to, making us charge our phones every time as if it were a landline phone.

On average, phone batteries have a lifespan of 1000 charging cycles till it gets weak. Yes. Your battery draws closer to its old-age with every single charge it gets giving you a strong-lasting battery for a year or two.

This means that the way you charge your phone plays a big role in the “long-lasting” battery factor.

Say no more grin

In this post, I’m going to tell you 6 common charging mistakes that might be killing your battery unknowing to you.

1. Waiting for the battery to die before recharging

See your phone battery as your own body. You can’t wait for your body to be completely drained out of energy before you take a rest. It just weakens your body even more.

The same thing can be said for your phone battery. Waiting for it to get low weakens your battery performance very quickly. It is a good practice to let your battery reach 15-20% before recharging.

This doesn’t mean your phone battery shouldn’t die. On the contrary, Let it completely die only once a month. Nothing more, nothing less. This also improves battery life.

2. Using foreign chargers

It is tempting to use fast chargers, as they make charging your phone fast. likewise, using fake chargers, because you are looking for something cheap.

It is recommended by your phone’s manufacturer to use the companies charger because they have calculated the amount of energy (volts and ampere) required to charge yours properly without reducing the battery life.

The only way it is safe to use a foreign charger is if the foreign charger matches your manufacturer’s charger in terms of volts (v) and ampere (mA or A).

3. Storing your Backup phone

Do you have more than one phone in your arsenal?

If yes, it is likely that you value one more than the other or one is used more than the other.

In this case, if you want to stop using one of the phones for a long time, it is good to leave the phone battery at 50%.

Leaving it at low charge and then charging it is like telling you to run a marathon after waking up from the dead.

4. Using third-party battery apps

You might have seen an advert that says if you use a particular app, your phone will charge faster.

Quite the opposite. These apps kill your battery because they are constantly running in the background forcefully killing apps and displaying ads on the lock screen.

You don’t need an app to charge your phone fast. If there were such, it’ll be installed on your device by the manufacturer.

5. Using your phone while it charges

It is like working while resting at the same. Work and rest don’t go well together.

Using your phone while it charges only makes your phone hot. Your Phone may be many things, but what it isn’t is cold-blooded.

Temperature above 35°c (95°F) is not safe for your phone as it only damages the battery and could explode in the long run.

Avoid keeping your phone in hot places and remember to remove your phone pouch before charging.

6. Avoid constant recharge

Let your phone get used up before recharging, as constant recharge affects your smartphones battery life.

Conclusion

If you follow the above steps, I guarantee a longer battery experience for you.
