In the streets, experience not books do the job. You just quoted some fine readings out of an online article for me but have you ever experienced it? I speak from experience mind you friend.

A man who wants to buy an avalon should have very deep pockets and should not even be considering a corolla in the same sentence with an avalon because when the problems come and they must surely come, he does not want to be caught napping on the avalon.

Power, sleekness; yes the avalon has got it. The corolla is just one boring piece of slow metal on the roads with handling like an old lady but never ever compare a corolla and an avalon in terms of reliability and I'm not talking about fuel economy! I see. I'm actually driving one (a Canada-used Avalon 2006 though) and I've not had any issues for the past 8 months that I got it.

I think it depends on the avenue through which you got it cos I ordered for mine directly from Canada and it was thoroughly inspected before it was brought down to Nigeria.

Go for the corolla and save yourself the pains hassles and problems! Avalon na very problematic car and I am speaking from experience... Matter of fact, many experiences! Forget as e long like ojile bread ooo forget that sleek shape... It's a very unreliable and useless car! Enough said

False. Avalon uses the same drivetrain and powertrain (Engine and trans) as sienna and camry-MZ series. 2. 5L to 3.3l engine
Corolla has 1.4 to 1.8L
Avalon has better torque and more efficient in pulling out of bottomless potholes and muddy areas..LESS wear and tear on the engine, but takes more FUEL to do the work.
Corolla has less torque and less efficient in navigating “beautifully tarred/paved” Naija roads..but it puts a lot of wear and tear on engine and trans. You save more in fuel cost, but give up on longevity, wear and tear.
About fuel, the MPG difference is only 6miles/10km

He's been with the car for about 8 months now too and what he's spent on that car till date can comfortably buy him a neatly used Nigerian corolla. Hope you get my drift? Rule out the avalon pls... The Corolla is close to it.. The Corolla and d avensis are at pal...u may go for either... U will Enjoy the ride... Fuel economy for the two is OK. Comfort is there. Durability and ruggedness they both got there... So, I think pray about the two and let God direct ur path..... My two cents!
