Hello all ,

Looking at the recent arrest of high profile Yahoo boys Obiwanne there have been alot of conspiracy theorist about how his nairaland account played into this and I want to help.seperate facts from fiction.

Before I go further let me drop a bit of a clue into why I am doing this. I know someone who helps with digital forensic profiling or individuals, for NGOs, Embassies, law enforcement and such

For instance a recuritment firm hiring for an international NGO like Oxfam might want to vet the final list of candidates and this recruiting firm will send such a list to.him to screen out the red flags like , Religious hate, tribal hate, anti-Semitism , Homophobia etc..

Sometimes embassies who receive asylum applications from individuals claiming to be gay or whatnot send such lists to certain firms who engage my services to vet..

This individual traces digital foot prints and profile you... Even if it's one of your numerous Facebook, Nairaland, or Myspace account where you commented on how you hate bobrisky or how you wish gays are killed or how you wish , yorubas are wiped out by fulani herdsmen or how you believe ibos are pigs or how you think hausa fulani are all evil ... depending on what your applied for or the information the company is looking for
It will all show in your report ...

Sometimes companies request for certain information, like how this candidate leans in regards to violence against women.. so if you have ever made a post with one of your nairaland accounts in the romance section saying how some women deserve to be slapped or beaten well it will be found

I know you are wondering how possible this is when you may have even closed these accounts hence they read as nobody or deleted the posts on Facebook or opened over 200 accounts so you think surely it can't be traced ? grin

It can and it is very easy to do if you know how.. I won't go into details because that way you will know how to be totally anonymous hence making the person's work.harder so no.

But just know that you should keep track of people who follow you on this platform

Some of you whom I follow know why I do that.

My point is , all these TRIBALISM and Religious hate posts you make will only work against you in the ever competitive Nigerian employment market

As at last week Sage announced to their staff they are leaving Nigeria, so you have more professionals coming to join the unemployment market .

Alot of you who are in school posting tribal hate thinking for now you don't need a job just an internship well... Don't get discouraged when you don't get called up or retained afterwards

My advise start censoring yourself or live with the consequences.cheers

You can only run a trace if i use my real name or the email address I used in applying for the job or phone number to open a profile on NL or anywhere else.

So stop being over confident sir.

Can anyone confirm if you can still be found on nl after deactivating your account?

How about if a trace is ran on your public ip to determine whatever goes out and comes in to your ip, even with your vpn we still do stuff.

I am certified expert in digital forensics.

To the gentleman above who feels this is a stretch

9 years ago on this forum when.this prediction in soccer betting thing was new

Someone advertised just put a number I asked him to be certain it wasn't a scam he said it wasn't

Long story short he scammed me and blocked me on Whatsapp

Mind you this number wasn't a registered number

I traced him, found his four Facebook accounts, I found his wife's Facebook , his wife's mobile number and the church where they wedded, I sent him his wedding photos too.

None of this information was ever on nairaland, in his seven nairaland accounts he claimed he stays in Lagos , I traced him to jos in ,4 hours

His real name and his location in Jo's and sent all to his other number on WhatsApp he never posted on nairaland
He repaid me in full and interest begging not to be persecuted
I am.sure he is here and maybe reading this

Don't be deceived, there is nothing like online anonymity, it's a myth In today's world. Any Yahoo boys that hasn't been arrested either hasn't stolen a serious amount of funds to justify being traced, or follows SAP protocols

So what you’re a certified expert in digital forensics?

Lol if I don’t use a static IP nko? That’s one thing

If NL is the only site i open on my device nko? If I only connect to wifi in public places nko?

If I use a vpn, there’s no way in hell you can trace my ip. First, I may decide to use a vpn that 100% doesn’t keep logs, then even if they keep logs, you cannot get access to those logs in a 100 years.

For instance; you buy a new internet enabled phone that does NOT have camera(s). Buy a new sim card that’s NOT registered (let’s say before the era of sim reg, I don’t want to use the era of sim reg so that I don’t give people new ideas). You bought this all cash.

Now on this phone, you will never login to your personal fb, email account, other social media accounts, bank accounts etc.

Create a new email address, sign up to a bunch of sites, write a bunch of posts and then throw the phone with the sim in the lagoon.

Now on your personal phone, apply for a job with your personal email, phone number, bla bla and NOT with the email or phone number in the phone you just threw away.

Now write a short note on how op can connect you with the posts you made with the phone you threw away in the process of vetting you for a new job.

I promised anybody who is interested in the case should collect the money any we share it 50 50. I can help the person with info that will help for his arrest

He's trying to scare people into being more compliant with their speech

The guy may be somebody from aso rock or just a snowflake that gets easily triggered

Personally I believe in freedom of speech but one should be careful when they talk, but one should also not withhold his passion because of fear,

Whether its fear of any embassy approving or denying visa based on beliefs you hold dear

Or any employer withholding a position because of your beliefs and opinions

Or fear of jobless blackmailers

That being said we should also respect th le human rights and human decency of others before we post

Our democracy needs freedom of speech and forums where people can gather and share their thoughts without fear of oppression

Everybody is entitled to his or her opinion!

Most foreign jobs with good pay always want u to drop ur social media I'd,
or let's say u ur created a LinkedIn account 80% of individuals will link their LinkedIn account to other social media, mostly Facebook, and don't forget most individuals now get jobs via this media(linkedin) and ur employer will definitely 40% most times want to view ur timeline comments, and he or she start seeing some in appropriate comments or pix of u going wild in party's, bro we are in d tech era,

now concerning d issue of throwing ur phone inside d lagoon, I believe u aren't a criminal, cus u wouldn't want to buy all dis gadgets and throw them away, right,

u see dis mask, outside there are there for different purpose, they are network tracks and dat is also one of their purpose,

brotherly if I continue to talk we will spend d who day here, let me give u something of reality to watch, then u also get exposed how technology works,
watch cbreality, and see how people try outsmart the system of technology but still get caught,
we day backward in technology for 9ja dats y we day reason at dis level,
