I remember back in the days at Awo mosque, OAU, we employed some cats to help us control rats from the mosque.

The rats were becoming a nuisance. A person will pause his meal for a second to drink water only to find that a rat is dragging his bread away.
If you stand still for more than five seconds in the middle of the night, a rat may start scratching your legs and eating your toes.

I personally transferred the cat from Faj mosque to Awo mosque. It was a female cat. The cats did a good job. We fed it suya, fish, kulikuli, bread and it also hunted rats.

Cats are a easy-to-manage rat control machine.
