I'm a student studying the course i don't like right from the day i gained admission but my parents encouraged me to study it now I'm 200lv with cgpa of 1.5 i need advice on how to move on cus I'm down and I don't know what to do my results in school so far is not good trying my best since 100lv thinking things will change now I'm moving to 300lv with the same poor gp and i don't want to give up cus of the fees I've paid so far and I've been lying to my parents about my results since pls i need advice on this |

Look the best thing for u is to tell ur parents about ur predicament in school. Delaying this vital information is dangerous for u. With the situation on ground, all u need to do is to let people around know what u are passing through just to help u out. The best is to quit and plan a better way ahead for urself. U can still make something better out of ur life. If truly u don't like the course u are studying try to quit on time but the way I see it, education is not really for u with this ur current GP. That you do not like a course is no excuse not to at least have a 2:2 in it. The problem is you. There is no course you will do that you will do better than that because obviously you aren't smart. All you wrote above has not even one punctuation mark. It shows that you shouldn't even be in a tertiary institution as you can never have made a credit in English language. I understand now that majority of you cheat during SSCE exams. In any case, try to learn some sellable skills. Not everyone will excel in life with formal education. You seem to be one of those who won't. The smart ones are generally looking for a better job with the exception of a few. I doubt you will get any job if you graduate with the worst grade. Leave school now and learn as many sellable skills as possible. You can still make it. PS: Tell your parents now about your dismal performance in school and let them know that you are quitting as it is no good trying to continue. Apply for inter faculty transfer. If it works out, you've got a second chance to make things work out. When you're in your new department, try to appreciate it, attend lectures, set targets and improve in all areas of your life. Forget those guys that will come and say "school is not for everybody," just try to concentrate this time |

[\b]WORK ON YOUR WEAK POINT[\b] Having a weak point is not bad but failure to convert it to your strength is one's down fall. what are some student down fall in an everyday lecture room you may ask? you are not good at dictation,yes cause it depends on each lecturers, some dictate and mark periodically specially in 100l while some give reading materisal to deplicate, some expect you to buy their authored textbook. solutions 1)make photocopies of those lecturer's note dictated during leacture from one of serious coursemate you all know to be the best writer in class. make him or her your friend.you can make it weekly, before test and during examine. pls note for reading purpose only and not for exposes. In Uniben(faculty of agriculture), if you don't get up to the required attendance, no exam for you. This will obviously lead to poor Gp. Guy you need to examine yourself. I have friends who where given same zoology. Even though they didn't like it, they put in their best and had good grades. In fact some had first class(truth). Zoology is a biological course, if I may ask, what course did you go for in the first place?. Or is it that you are one those who are not meant to be in the university but are there because of peer/family pressure. |

DEPARTMENT AND FACULTY when you are given a course to study in any institution of learning try understand their gitty gatty to be successful. No two faculty are the same, so don't go comparing yourself with someone in social science, where they popullation of 250 -300 in a given level year with yours which is not up to 50. sorting does not really work in all department because of student population. Let imagine for example bussiness admin with a population of 300 decide to sort a course for minium of 3000 naire 300 *3000= 900,000 And your course level is just 30 30 *3000 =90,000, You see the differences, so they will likely not encourage to sort them. Found your self in an evironmental feculty i bet you, you read for your grades. 2) Due to there popullation attendance taking become diffcult ,only few student are duly reconcize ( front seat student) because they seem to attentative and intelligent (lol) unlike most department where the lecturers calls you by your surname. |

QUICK TIPS Change your friends, make friend with intelligent student in your department only. 1) those above you (300l going to 400) 2) your present level mate 3) those below you in every level. NOTE: no free lunch,you have to make them friends to carry you along cause no man is an island and dont be manipulative or bugging.sure they know everything there is nothing to hide from them because some department paste result. share your new motive with them and see those that can help. REASONS: They will be your eyes ,give all the vital information you need from time to time ok. 1)why those above you(300 going to 400): simple they are just a class ahead of you ,they have seen it all, what do you need from these person you might ask? Alot 1) LECTURER DO AND DON'T: The will educate about each an every lecturers behaviours so you dont fall in their trap, (their aweak point) some lecturer may never let you in when they in the class, presist you failed. YOU LEVEL MATE: work with your course rep for vital information.do not be isolated, get in volve with the classroom politics, let you voice be heard. let others seek option from you and give if you have. let go all negative forces pulling down. form reading group of your own, be the one to select those to be involved, steve learn to choose your friends dont let your friends choose you, in the reading group, it's your duties to maintence it, you pick the days conventant ,let say 20mins after school you start. any of you are free to lecture ,ask guestion, make note of their point see think now from their perceptive, it is your duty to call your reading group on phones, provide refreshment ,like coke and gala from time to time, drill your self on these, see it as life and death. remember this not to make you dependent on them in examination but to discover the gaint you are . do not be manipulative or else it will not work if you set these up for the worry motive . |
