Why Do Women Actually Dress Up ? by blackbeau1(f): 2:10pm On Sep 12, 2019
This afternoon, my manager came up with the theory that the outcome of a high bride price is that women are left on the shelf and these women are forced to go into prostitution just so they can look beautiful to attract other men. And so in essence that women dress to attract men.
Quite frankly I disagree. Yes I know women do dress to impress men but I think most of the time women dress just to 'outdress' or outshine other women. What's your opinion ?

Whether men OR women, everyone wants to look nice, want to shine, want to impress others.... because in the society we live in today, how you look is very important. Nobody will respect you, or even want to be around you, if you look dishevelled.

Sadly, in today's society, looking good has also shifted to having designer wear. You are better off wearing designer gear and looking like a scarecrow than looking fly but having common clothing.
Go figure!

As for what your manager said, many don't have to go into prostitution to look good, they do so to obtain DESIGNER good and fancy IPhone, Brazilian hair etc to follow the Joneses

Any reason why women specifically are being mentioned here?
