Inflammation is the body’s biological response to protect itself from harmful internal and external stimuli and to encourage healing. It is part of the immune system that protects us from infections, injury and tissue damage.

Inflammation can be acute and start quickly and become severe in a short time. For example, acute inflammation can cause diseases and conditions such as sinusitis, colds, acute bronchitis, and more.

Inflammation can become chronic in response to unwanted toxins in the body, such as cigarette smoke or excess body fat. It can take months to years to experience conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and non-communicable diseases such as tuberculosis, gastric ulcers, hepatitis and more.

Causes of chronic inflammation

Stress: Stress causes an activity in the brain that can cause physical pain that can cause an inflammatory reaction in the body. Therefore, people who suffer from stress can experience inflammation.

Poor diet: Some foods, such as ordinary sugar, high fructose corn syrup, wheat flour, high fat foods, processed meat, fried foods, etc., can trigger an inflammatory response in the body. Therefore, consumption of these foods must be limited.

Unhealthy lifestyle: Alcohol consumption, smoking, physical activity, and obesity cause stress in the body, which triggers an inflammatory response.

Contamination: Contamination causes cell damage which can cause inflammation.

How to control chronic inflammation

Regular physical activity: 30-50 minutes Regular physical activity helps you lose weight and mobilize your joints. Reducing the possibility of chronic inflammation.

Have a balanced and nutritious diet: Include all nutrition groups in your diet. Eat rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, magnesium, carotenoids, antioxidants and lycopene, because these nutrients are anti-inflammatory.

Some anti-inflammatory foods are:

olive oil
tomato
Beans such as beans and almonds
Leafy vegetables, including spinach and mussels
Oily fish like salmon and mackerel
Fruits, especially blueberries, oranges, and cherries
Spices such as ginger, turmeric, oregano, and cloves
Reduce stress: Sleep at least 6-8 hours a day, try to reduce stress, talk about your feelings, etc. This will help you maintain and reduce stress. This reduces the risk of inflammation.

Understanding the relationship between chronic inflammation, diet and exercise helps you age better and maintain chronic illness. Eating healthy foods instead of separating foods and adding them to your diet is the best way to combat inflammation. Herbal foods that are not processed in various colors protect your body from inflammation.
