I worked in a bank, and it's difficult bin Nigeria for a woman to change her name.. she needs to get a new acceptable ID card with her husband name. Den newspaper publication,affidavit etc to change it on bvn..that can take long depending on how much she has

As in, eh, it was so painful when I was told that I would have to do change of name in any Newspaper because my BVN had a third name and my NIN slip didn't. I would still pay ontop.

i don't think the society or any man needs a woman to change are surname on any document pre-marriage. buh after the marriage wat ever a woman applies for should come in her husband name.

I won't change my name because its not in my culture to take the man's name (thank god) but the children will carry their father's name. A lot of people do neither and that's their right.

Did I say I was against women changing their surnames? As a matter of fact, whether it's your father's name or your husband's name, isn't it still a male's name?
