Check out Messi's stats and don't forget that he won the La liga. He had a good overall performance in the ucl and copa del rey. No player was better than Messi last season. His gameplay and techniques went to the highest level that no player, even Ronaldo, has attained. Free kicks, passing/assist, and shot accuracy were god level. Too bad he didn't win the ucl due to barca defence complacency in the second leg and he lost in the copa del rey final. Liverpool had the ucl and Van Dijk did great last season but Messi is far above Van Dijk.

I am a Ronaldo fan but I love the truth more than Ronaldo and we must give honour to whom it is due. That award belongs to Messi. Messi has worked hard, proved himself and must not be denied.
