Not really...just that there are countless opportunities on linkedin and I dont think Nigerians make enough use of them. There are even cases of people requesting openly for CV's on linkedin.

Yes, I got hired via LinkedIn by one of the fastest growing Indigenous E&P and will resume work within the month.

LinkedIn works. I didn't apply oo but the recruiter saw my profile, gave me a call and the rest is history.

My advice is; work on and optimize your LinkedIn profile, become and stay active on LinkedIn.

Optimize profile so you can appear on as many search results as possible.

Use industry specific keywords that aligns with your job description.

Use industry specific job titles on your headline.

If you are unemployed, fill the role you would like to be employed for and list out the job description as your recent employment. Then under company, write pursuing opportunity in (list your industry).

Make sure, you have all star ticked on your dashboard.

The key in optimizing your profile revolves around the use of industry specific key words in your Job description.

For example

Experience
1. Remove experience that isn't related to your choice industry
2. Include quantifiable results. For example; how many employees benefited from the work you did or the support you provided, how much money did you save an organization, did your work affect a specific region or country? Did you contribute to a project that impacted a lot of people?

You must have done I.T. Write that one. What you did in the I.T.

You must have helped your mum or Dad or Aunty or Uncle, sell yam, arrange venue for wedding, pack chairs, make table, organise church event, play keyboard for choir . .

Write that one. How it helped people, how they were happy.

My first CV was exactly like this. That one alone can fill up 2 A4 sheets.

First write it on A4 sheet before you try to put it on LinkedIn.

What you want is job. If someone takes that your cv and give you job, you can then write job on LinkedIn.
