Candido Urges Youths To Shun cultism And Social Vices

The Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon Abdullahi Adamu Candido has advised youths in the country to shun cultism and other social vices.

Candido gave the advice at the closing of maiden University of Abuja Inter Faculty Football Competition in Abuja.

The competition which was sponsored by the chairman had participants from 10 faculties of the university.

Faculty of Education emerged winners after beating Social Science 1-0 in the keenly contested finals.

Candido, while congratulating the winners urged other students to engage in sporting activities so they can remain physically fit.

He said this is an open avenue for other institutions, Individuals and organisations to as well partake of this kind of programme and what ever it is we are just trying to encourage fitness among all of us be it students and even government in terms of sporting activities that is why we support them and encouraging others to join them.

He however urged the students to concentrate on their studies while imbibing the spirits of sportsmanship to remain fit and dogged to be able to face their studies and above all they should avoid cultisim and any negative engagements around them because we are moulding them to be leaders of tomorrow and they can only go and become leaders with positive conduct.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja Prof. Sani Adams appreciated the chairman of AMAC Abdullahi Adamu Candido, adding that this is the first time of the FCT supporting the university of Abuja because we have a chairman who is committed to the development of this nation and we pray to the Almighty God that he will not only stop here, he will assent whole of leadership to the zenith of it.

He also appreciate the Gwagwalada Area Council for hosting this event. "you can see that AMAC chairman is very submissive to have invited officials of Gwagwalada Area Council knowing fully well that the event is been host here.

He has shown honour and dignity to Gwagwalada Area Council by inviting its officials, and that is a sign of humility, unity and as such we invite cooperation for peaceful coexistence, he said.
