In the early hours of wednesday in Kaduna metropolis at the Shiek Gumi market ,shop owners and traders clashed with the police and embarked on a protest , which led to the shutdown of most business activities at the popular Gumi market.
Allegations were that the shop right were sold to a private company, coupled with the ongoing demolition of road side kiosk. Shop owners barricaded most of the roads, threw stones at the police, but were later dispersed.
However business activities were on the high for those who were not affected by the shutdown on the other side of the market
