For me ICAn and ACCA are one and the same only that one is national and the other international u no more like Bsc Unilag and Bsc Oxford University. But CFA is a step further, u no become an analyst ultimately. ACA and ACCA is more of reporting financials BUT CFA Analysing the Financial among other factors like economy impacts and frontiers |

I am writing the CFA I exam this june 2011, Have taken Nairobi as the centre, anyone heading to Nairobi, Also am planning for a last minute online learning course ( prefarably live and not recorded lectures) which could give me a short revision for my preparation and last minute tips, any idea on that? |

It is only in Nigeria we say things like this. What concerns you whether one is harder that the other? Dont you have a career path?. As for ICAN being harder than ACCA. That is complete rubbish. Go and ask any ICAN graduate doing the professional stage of ACCA exams, they will tell you that they are worlds apart. Mind you ICAN is now working to match their certification and standard with that of ACCA. ACCA is not about cramming but application of knowledge. You can visit their website and see the tons of materials there and you can also compare it with ICAN's website. Therefore, this is my opinion below; ICAN = Local champion. Relevant if you are looking for an accounting related job only in Nigeria. ACCA= Internationally acclaimed. Relevant if you are looking for jobs in Nigeria and Abroad. CPA= Equivalent of ACCA in America and from what I hear, it is broader and probably tougher CFA= Internationally acclaimed. @Adrenaline I suppose seyi's response was to Jarus'. Throughout my professiolnal studies, I never stopped seeing this 'harder exam ' thingy and I seem not to understand why you wanna behave like Pakistanis(they really loff to argue about this). There's always a tendency to assume that the exam you wrote is the hardest and while I support seyi's analysis, a qualification is not the only passport to a successful career, the deal is to make the smartest use of your studies in your career - that's what makes you stand out. @topic CFA 1 Like |

We all know the career paths different exams offer, that's not what the thread is about, the thread seeks to highlight which exam is "harder" to write, from preparation, to sheer volume of course content to flexibility and stuff like that |
