Is Chivalry Dead In The Relationships? by MrsEve1: 3:43pm On Nov 29, 2010 |
Ladies, Is chivalry dead in the relationships? Do you miss when men use to throw their coat on a mud puddle to let you by? Do you miss when a random man would open the door and say mam? I have noticed that women are becoming more chivalrous than men which is ashamed, why is that ladies? Are we to be blame that we raised such punkish and coward men who doesn't know the art of chivalry? Fellows, What do you think chivalry means? Do you think you still have it? Do you think that being a man is about being above the ladies in chivalry? No? Yes? Do you approach a woman based on how she is perceived or how you was raised? |

Well Iice, When I was coming up I saw men carry groceries, making sure ladies get on bus first, or got out of the car to escort ladies to their destination ie the door or in the house, pulled out chairs, and all kinds of thing. The female elders taught my female relatives and I how to appreciate men that do that because they said that nowadays men are not doing that. One day I was at Walmart and this older lady who was in her 80's were having a very difficult time getting out of the cart which old people ride in. The men walked right passed her and the ladies rushed to her rescue, I was so outdone! |

Men re more chivalrous . . . .Reason is that . .The women force or demand for it, even though sometimes we re not that happy doing it but still have to do it . . .From there it becomes part of the attitude! |
Re: Is Chivalry Dead In The Relationships? by Nobody: 12:31pm On Nov 30, 2010 |
Chivalry is not meant for everybody. . . . . . . . some women deserve to be treated like garbage because they act like garbage. its the sad fact of life! a man who "pays" for his gf therefore OWNS her and doesnt need to be chivalrous with her because even if he treats her "poorly", he knows that she aint going anywhere. . . . . . . . . . .so why should that man waste his energy going the extra mile? on the other hand, you have some women out there with class that DESERVES attention, care and gallantry(you just have to figure out which are which). . . . . . . . . . and not providing it for them is a sin as it usually cost nothing! as Chris Rock once famously said:"CHIVALRY IS DEAD AND WOMEN KILLED IT" |

MRbrownJAY: Really Jaybrown! Really! Oh my goodness! Just because a trick act like a trick does not mean that you have to step to her level be better than her by showing her what a decent person supposed to act not be on the same level as her from the outside you both looking like a fool. Just because a man pays for a donut does not mean he owns ANYTHING, it is illegal to own slaves! |

So in Eqypt, you see men pulling out chairs and things? You don't see women helping other women that men should be helping regardless if that his wife or not? I have noticed that men tends to be more chivlarous toward their wives and family members but not a stranger why that? |

medjai: Dictionary: chiv·al·ry (shĭv'əl-rē) AdsChivalry and Knighthoodwww.nobility-royalty.com International Commission Certification of True Honors Home > Library > Literature & Language > Dictionary n., pl., -ries. 1.The medieval system, principles, and customs of knighthood. 2. a.The qualities idealized by knighthood, such as bravery, courtesy, honor, and gallantry toward women. b.A manifestation of any of these qualities. 3.A group of knights or gallant gentlemen. [Middle English chivalrie, from Old French chevalerie, from chevalier, knight. See chevalier.] WORD HISTORY The Age of Chivalry was also the age of the horse. Bedecked in elaborate armor and other trappings, horses were certainly well dressed, although they might have wished for lighter loads. That the horse should be featured so prominently during the Age of Chivalry is etymologically appropriate, because chivalry goes back to the Latin word caballus, "horse, especially a riding horse or packhorse." Borrowed from French, as were so many other important words having to do with medieval English culture, the English word chivalry is first recorded in works composed around the beginning of the 14th century and is found in several senses, including "a body of armored mounted warriors serving a lord" and "knighthood as a ceremonially conferred rank in the social system." Our modern sense, "the medieval system of knighthood," could not exist until the passage of several centuries had allowed the perspective for such a conceptualization, with this sense being recorded first in 1765.
