This Maddie character is quite strange. One minute he is acting sensibly the next minute he is something else. Would it be possible to give a background story(flashback) on the characters to enable us understand them better?

" Good ! " Daz continued. " Maddie ! Fury ! I believe you know what to do. You guys are going to follow me straight in. " he turned to Chad. " You stay with the car no matter what. You're our getaway and you must be ready when we come out of that house. We'll use a rented jeep for the operation '

" Are there going to be need for guns ? " Fury asked.

Daz drew in a long , slow breath.

" Guns is not really necessary. I doubt it if this operation will ever require a gun. What we need in this operation is luck , our brains and guts. We don't need heavy firearms. But just in case , we'll take along our pistols "

" Must we use gun ? " Chad said. " I hate guns. I can't stand another murder rap to be associated with this crew "

Daz looked at Chad as if he could kill him.

" Don't worry your brain about any gun. " he said. " Your job is to drive and not to hold gun. You can't just say you want to pick up a diamond necklace worth millions of dollars without sweating , boy ! Don't you know , you have to break few eggs to make an omelette ? "

Chad swallowed hard. Fear was boldly written on his handsome face.

" I just don't want another person to die " he said in a shaky voice.

" Look here ! " Daz said sharply. " I'm sick and tired of your worries. We don't need to consider violence in this job. Just forget about someone dying alright ? And if you can't do without thinking something about death then we can't let you to follow us in this next operation and we wont share any money with you. "
Chad hesitated. He would have loved to quit but the thought of what Della would say to him if he quitted frightened him.

" Okay….." he said. " I'll go ahead with the plan. I've got no worries in me "

Daz regarded him for a long moment.

" What if someone dies , whatcha gonna do ? "

Chad hesitated. He heaved heavily and moistened his lips with his tongue. Then he began to think hard and fast.

" I won't do nothing " he said finally. " I won't do nothing "

Daz eyed him for a long moment.

" Good decision , Chad. Like you said , you won't do anything. " Daz said , he paused and went on. " Now , let me tell you boys , something. Let's keep our mouth shut about this operation. I don't want you guys to spill any of our operation plans to anyone. Keep the plans to yourself. What you hear in this meeting , stays with you. You only ! Alright ? "

The men in the room.

" In that case , " Daz said satisfied. " let's meet here by 10 p.m tomorrow night. By eleven on dot , we should be on our way to Mendoza's bungalow. Goodnight boys. "

The following day , The time was twenty minutes past eleven. On the highway out of Miami City enroute Palmetto Bay , Daz , Maddie and Fury and Chad sat huddled in a rented black Jeep. Chad was behind the steering , driving. Daz was sitting next to him. Fury and Maddie were in the back seat. They all wore black coveralls , black ski mask on their faces and in their hands was .9mm Luger guns.
There was a wooden expression on their faces. Their eyes was cold as ice and their breathing was slow and even. The atmosphere in the car was tense and stiff. Nobody talked , nobody moved. They all stared ahead , looking through the windshield as Chad drove the powerful jeep. There was no traffic on the highway and the jeep sailed through the road effortlessly. Daz checked kept checking the G-shock on his wrist. Time was an important factor and they dare not waste it. To keep himself busy , Daz began to hum under his breath.
Chad had not been driving for twenty minutes now , when Daz shouted all of a sudden.

" Listen guys ! " he seethed out.

The men in the car listened. Their hearts gave a lurch when they heard in the far distance the faint sound of an approaching police siren. None of the men had anticipated this and a cold fear surged through their bodies and gripped them like the claws of an eagle.
