This is a true story that never happened.
I stayed up all night looking out for a sign(or anything) from the skies that would end this decade and usher us into a new one, plus it was impossible to sleep, with all raucous coming from the blarring sounds of sticks, hitting on plastic creating tunes only its members could understand and dance to at the nearby church; and my (obnoxious) neighbour in her makeshift beer parlour -who by the way, have been greeting people 'happy new year' since 10:00pm...very annoying indeed. Was hosting the local drunks to a new year eve party, admist drunken argument; laughter -and other things drunk people do. Apart from that, the whole neighbourhood was quiet. Glancing at my watch I the time read 00:02; I felt distraught. Then it came! The signs I had waited so long (2hrs) for! It was remarkable!

CONTD..
I saw it coming from the ends of the earth -where the skies met the earth. It shot up into the sky at an amazing speed, it was fiery colored...so I thought. Two more of the same spectacle followed in close range, I filled with joy, my heart was bursting in feelings that I cannot express! As soon as it got to high heavens it burst open and exploded, into many beautiful colors, that brightened the night along with distant sounds of thunder-like claps. The scene was so electrifying, that the local drunks began screaming in joy, followed by shots from knock-outs, admist heavy cheers of 'happy newyear'. I got pissed off, when one of the drunks rushed out, hugged me tightly and wished me a happy new year, I quickly seprated myself from his grip and quickly rushed indoors, before another 'hug' would reach me...without my consent. Laying on my bed, I felt bad entering the new year on a rather sad note; I kicked myself on the tail especially, for staying up all night just to watch ordinary fireworks!
