One of the major problem facing Nigeria is corruption - Is the current administration of President Goodluck Jonathan fighting it?
Re: Is President Jonathan Fighting Corruption? (Voting - Included) by lyfe(m): 8:12am On Dec 05, 2010
He would have taken this as his duty but his bed mate is among, I think this is source of his worry as we are closing on election period. Opponents will dig up the fact as regards the 18million dollars his wife was alleged to have laundered.
Invariably he is just like the rest of Atiku, IBB and others.

So under Jonathan, the fight against corruption is too small and needs to be forgotten? Or is it that him and his team are having a filled day on our National purse?
Re: Is President Jonathan Fighting Corruption? (Voting - Included) by Nobody: 1:44pm On Dec 20, 2010
How do u expect corruption to fight corruption, na wa 4u o o. Look @ his gang/ cabinet members, look @ d party he belongs and those in it. He even went a step further import one notorious grand patron of corruption from edo state and brought him out of retirement to aso rock so he can take a few lectures from d guru in corruption and made him his campaign strategest. Oh, remember his 2.I.C in bed epitomises corruption. For real, u dnt expect him to distroy a company were he is d CEO.

I could not tell you . . . all I know is that he did select just 3 points out of Yar adu's 7-points agenda to focus on, and fighting of corruption did not seem to make the list. Plus, there is really not much he can do about it since he still surrounds himself with the same batch of corrupt leaders we claim were part of the "CABAL" from the last administration.

Wake up children. You can't aggressive fight corruption in Nigeria. GEJ is the lesser evil. Look at Ribadu. He got exiled. If you expect GEJ to fight corruption aggressive then you expect him to die. He isn't built for that. I believe GEJ is progress, Steady progress.
Who is honestly a better candidate? Maybe Buhari but lets stop recycling the old.
Ribadu isn't ready to be a president.

“The greatest challenges facing this administration are to ensure electoral reform and a credible free and fair election in 2011, restore and maintain peace in the Niger Delta and most importantly make progress in the Power Sector,” the president posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday.

So he actually licensed every politician to steal? That explains the way money have disappeared from our reserve and borrowing like no tomorrow with nothing to show for it.

The government must fight corruption to make Nigeria a fantastic country.

By considering what is happening in the country (particularly in Lagos, Rivers and some other performing states) and country like India, Brazil, and many other countries, in our situation, the president must be determined to achieve. He must run a serious government. He must see himself serious. The people of the country must see him serious. And the international community must see the government as a serious one.

He must be determine to make things done.

And above all the anti-corruption (EFCC) must be effective.

Hence President Jonathan is the man.

Vote Jonathan/Sambo team.

How does that statement copied by Kobojunkie from Mr Jonathan amount to "actually licensing ever politician to steal"?

I don't think it is a license to steal per say but I believe his recent revelation that his administration fights corruption by removing itself more from the process speaks volumes of the idea that there is an almost non-challant approach with this administration when it comes to fighting corruption.

You almost get the sense that the man expects the system to automagically take care of that without him making much effort into ensuring it does. Sort of like the way he has been running the country for a while now. He busies himself with coming up with the next big plan while he continues to claim praise for achievements that pop up every now and then -- most of them from the efforts of the last administration. That seems his idea of continuity.

After sacking the ICPC chairman over the allegations he made against a cabinet member of Jonathan. . . . . what other evidence do we need that this clueless Jonathan is corruption himself!

Nigerians kick this retardeen out of office!

Waht are these "kids" ranting about?

The greatest initiative in fighting corruption is to be committed to credible polls. It is through fraudlent polls that thieves get into power. Those who expect him to arrest IBB and OBJ must know that this is not military era: this is a civillian rule for goodness sake.

Fighting corruption? The type OBJ and Ribadu did? I laugh in Igbo.
People are being arrested for electoral fraud, they will be tried and jailed. With enthroment of true democracy, corruption will die a natural death.

When credible people are voted in, the laws of the land is respected (unlike Buhari, who led the gang of over ambitious soldiers to trample upon our laws), corruption is a guner.

It is the militrary that promoted corruption by destroying the rule of law.

Is Jonathan fighting corruption? Yes, Yes. Yes, and Yes,

By their past we shall judge them. Johnathan has shown in the past one year he lacks the ability and capability to fight corruption. Why give him the chance to mess up again.
Re: Is President Jonathan Fighting Corruption? (Voting - Included) by favcom(m): 7:39pm On Apr 14, 2011
Even here where he has agents, the result is overwhelmingly obvious that the guy is part of the corruption. Only God knows how much he's spent on campaign! Where does he get all the money? Nobody seems to be asking question, yet they want change. There's too much delusion in Nigeria - only a few individuals in PDP are enjoying the goodies of this country. Yet, many will still vote the party come this Saturday. We are to continue the circle for another 4 years. In a few months' time, we start to complain again. Haba! How is insanity defined again?
