I hope this case wasn't given accelerated hearing and judgement cos the victim's dad is a prominent politician? Everyone deserves a fair hearing and judgement, irrespective of tribe, statues and ethnicity

Fgn hands out death sentences but doesn't carry them out in the same fashion. Im not sure life in prison isn't worse than this sentence. They have pver 2000 people on a death sentence in the country. Like obj said we must temper justice with mercy. I can't say what would be a more appropriate sentence. Killing someone with a knife is harsh if it is true. We do not know if any forensics were carried out
There are so many insane and murderous people in naija. They need to give away antidepressants if nairalabd is any indication of the country at large

I don't think the late man family can get justice because they're of lower class. From report back then, the killer wife is a lawyer from a well to do background.

Maryam was unlucky because her own late husband family are influential also. The late man father was former PDP chairman.
