Sadly as it is, the recent outbreak of deadly coronavirus from China's Wuhan city will not only impact negatively on Chinese economy, it will have a multiplier effect in so many other countries that depend mostly on Chinese made products to sustain their economy, one of such countries is Nigeria!

Another good reason why Nigerians must be worried about this recent outbreak of deadly China Wuhan coronavirus is for the fact that Nigeria has a very high population of Chinese working and living in Nigeria in large numbers across different Nigerian cities and even remote areas. And remember, China will soon roundup their usual long annual New Year Spring festival holiday which means so many Chinese citizens who traveled back to their country for the holiday will be returning back to their bases all over the world, which experts, including America's CDC have predicted would lead to a worldwide spread of the deadly Wuhan coronavirus that many countries are currently battling to curtail its spread into their countries.

Before I forge ahead, let me remind Nigerians that currently as we speak, the deadly Wuhan coronavirus has already spread into the following countries:

- USA
- France
- South Korea
- Saudi Arabia
- Japan
- Singapore
- Suspected case being studied in Kenya

It is sad to know that Nigerian government is not doing anything currently to educate Nigerians about this viral disease outbreak which experts are already speculating that it will go wild after the Chinese Spring Holiday ends in a week's time from today.

One way to curtail the spread of viral disease outbreak is public awareness to educate people on how to protect and prevent themselves from getting infected.

In this short post, I will list some measures Nigerians (those traveling and those in Nigeria) can do to protect themselves from getting infected with the wuhan coronavirus:

PREVENTIVE MEASURE ONE
Buy a Nose mask today and make it a habit of wearing it once you are going out! Don't mind anybody mocking or laughing at you which is usual in Nigeria, do it for your own safety and health. Though, this does not guarantee total protection, but it sure helps.

PREVENTIVE MEASURE TWO
Stay away from live animals for now (especially for those living in China, and Asian countries)

PREVENTIVE MEASURE THREE
Stop touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

Nigerians should wash their hands frequently with soap and water, making sure to scrub for at least 20 seconds. There are no vaccines to protect humans from contracting a coronavirus.

"There is no cure for this virus," says experts. "If there is a vaccine, it'll take years."

PREVENTIVE MEASURE FOUR
Wear hand glove, and if possible, avoid or quit shaking people unnecessarily, especially those with mild fever or showing sign of flu or cold.

Note that there is no evidence that Coronavirus can be transmitted through cargo or shipments because the coronavirus is a physically large virus—too big to survive or stay suspended in the air for hours or travel more than a few feet. Like influenza, oronavirus spreads through both direct and indirect contact. Direct contact occurs through the physical transfer of the microorganism through close contact with oral secretions. Indirect contact results when an infected person coughs or sneezes, spreading coronavirus droplets on nearby surfaces, including knobs, bedrails, and smartphones.

We have to educate and enlighten our existing and potential clients. ANNOUNCEMENT!

For all our esteemed clients expecting goods from China, all your goods have arrived Lagos International Airport since 25th January, what's holding the goods now is Nigerian government strict policy at the airport......they gave Nigerian customs strict warning not to clear any goods that came in from China for any agent or individual or organization for a certain number of days that have not yet been disclosed due to the fast-spreading deadly coronavirus.

They said the goods will be quarantined for a certain number of days which they didn't tell us, before we will be allowed to start clearing them out from the airport. That's the situation on ground, please do bear with us. We understand how this affects your business, but in as much as we wished it could come out earlier, there is nothing we can do to challenge Nigerian government policy, which is also meant to protect Nigerians from the spread of the coronavirus, be patient a little more, thank you for your continued understanding and patronage.

Mimi Logistics

Also for those wishing to import things from China, do note that Chinese national spring holiday which was supposed to end today has been extended till 14th February by The Chinese government due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus in China. This is to give the China government enough time to control and contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus from spreading to other Chinese provinces and cities. Do exercise more patience because there is nothing you can do to help until China calls of the holiday, thank you.
