I need your help pls..

When I was schooling in the north, if mosquitoes bite me for a day to two, I fall sick.. Malaria comes in.... But anytime I return to Lagos, e doesn't matter how many time dey bite me, I wunt fall sick... I have been bitten by mosquitoes for the past 3 months and no case Of malaria but my siblings usually contract malaria.... But it's different from me..

If I shud return to the north now, just a day or two days bite, I will fall sick..

What is the rationale behind this?

And I noticed that my urine is very yellowish but no malaria yet..

Pls help

My closest guess is the fact that not all mosquitos transmit malaria. Mosquito's are of different species but only the female Anopheles species transmit malaria. These females anopheles use human blood to nurture their eggs so when they bite a healthy person to obtain their blood they transmit the parasite. Its possible where you live in the north you are not exposed to the female anopheles but you are in Lagos. The species that bite u in the north are not the female anopheles so they do not carry the parasite.

Other possibility maybe genetic susceptibility of your DNA to the mosquito DNA and this is actually very interesting because I remember a time in Brazil when mosquitoes transmit zika virus when they bite pregnant women causing their babies to bcom imbeciles with huge head ( hydrocephalus) the scientists took some male species of the mosquitoes in Brazil and altered their DNA and released them back so that when they mate with the females the offsprings will not have strains of the zika to transmit so if such an operation has been carried out where u leave in the north then it could be a reason

. The first guess is the most probable anyway.
