Real men go out to meet them and give them money and they will sing and dance for them.

Not Ekwulobia but around that zone and any town with the dreaded Achikwu is from that zone which equally placed you thereabout. Achikwu like you said is for 'real' men. You weren't a 'real' man then I assume. It isn't a normal masquerade. Anyone involved in Achikwu is not the every usual masquerade member. Ndeme.
