Maggie Orr Hicks from Ohio had her great-grandparents’ passports passed down to her.

Maggie’s mother, who is suffering from stage four cancer, gave her the important family keepsake.

Since the passports were from the 1900s and written in a foreign language, the woman decided to turn to a Facebook group called Girls Love Travel asking for help with the translation.

Technology has really advanced can u wonder what many Nigerians will do today with this passport to travel if this is d current passport.
In fact I can guarantee u that beating immigration would have been a walk in pack
This is a very piece of memory and if it hits Auction you will be shocked at its current value .

**"In Naam Hare Majesteit de Koningin der Nederlanden, Prinses van Oranje-nassau"**

Translates to: In the Name of Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands, Princess of Orange-Nassau.

Orange-Nassau["Oranje-Nassau"] here means the ruling house of the Netherlands... till date.

The Queen on the throne as at the 1920s would be Queen Wilhelmina. She ruled the Netherlands from the 1890s up until the late 1940s when she was succeeded by Queen Juliana. Juliana, in turn was succeeded by Beatrix. That way, the Netherlands was led by 3 Queens in a row before Beatrix abdicated and handed over to her son, Willem-Alexander, the current king of the Netherlands.

Long and short, the passport was issued at a time when the Netherlands were ruled by a Queen. No king at the time. The passport is a very valuable piece of history for sure
