Chief of Staff of the President, Abba Kyari, on Tuesday, led a presidential delegation which visited Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, on the loss of his mother, Hauwa’u Ozoho.

According to a statement by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, President Muhammadu Buhari urged Bello to always remember the ‘courage and indelible contribution’ of his late mother to his life and the community.



The president spoke at the third day Firdau prayers for the deceased held at the Bello family compound in Okene, Kogi.

The governor’s mother died on Sunday at age 101.

“Your mother will be remembered for her unwavering support and encouragement to you,” Buhari said in a letter addressed to the family.

“Her wise counsel to you in the course of service to your people will not be easily forgotten. Her demise has created a vacuum which will be difficult to fill.



“I enjoin Your Excellency to draw inspiration from the fact that she lived a fulfilled life. She lived to witness your leadership and achievements as the Executive Governor of Kogi State in the last four years.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Nigeria, I commiserate with Your Excellency, the entire members of your family and the people of Kogi State.”

Other members of the president’s delegation included the Minister of Special Duties, George Akume; Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Lai Mohammed; and Minister of State, FCT, Ramatu Tijjani.



Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Zubair Dada, and Mr Shehu were also part of the delegation.
