GOOD FRIDAY: Drop The Lyrics Of Your Favorite Hymn by Spark2: 7:22am On Apr 10, 2020
In a lockdown,
COVID-19 cannot stop us from remembering the journey of Jesus on the cross for our salvation.
Drop the lyrics of your favorite hymn, it might encourage you and as well encourage someone today.
For me, my favorite hymn is JESUS, KEEP ME NEAR THE CROSS (by Fanny Crosby, 1869)

JESUS, KEEP ME NEAR THE CROSS

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain;
Free to all, a healing stream,
Flows from Calv'ry's mountain.

Refrain
In the cross, in the cross
Be my glory ever,
Till my ransomed soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the Bright and Morning Star
Shed His beams around me.

Near the cross! O lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day
With its shadow o'er me.

Near the cross! I'll watch and wait,
Hoping, trusting ever;
Till I reach the golden strand,
Just beyond the river.

1. When I survey the wondrous cross
on which the Prince of Glory died,
my richest gain I count but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.

2. Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
save in the cross of Christ, my God:
all the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to his blood.

3. See, from his head, his hands, his feet,
sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,
or thorns compose so rich a crown?

4. Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were an offering far too small;
love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all.

REDEEMER, SAVIOUR, FRIEND

1) I know you had me on your mind
When you climbed upon the hill
For you saw me with eternal eyes
While I was yet in sin
Redeemer, saviour ,friend

Chorus
Redeemer, redeem my heart again
Saviour, come.and shelter me from.sin
You're familiar with my weakness
Devoted to the end
Redeemer, saviour, friend

2)Every stripe upon Your battered back
Every thorn that pierced Your brow
Every nail drove deep through guiltless hands
Said that Your love knows no end
Redeemer Savior Friend

3)So the grace You poured upon my life
Will return to You in praise
And I'll gladly lay down all my crowns
For the name of which I am saved
Redeemer Savior Friend

MAN OF SORROWS

1 Man of sorrows what a name
for the Son of God, who came
ruined sinners to reclaim:
Hallelujah, what a Savior!

2 Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
in my place condemned he stood,
sealed my pardon with his blood:
Hallelujah, what a Savior!

3 Guilty, helpless, lost were we;
blameless Lamb of God was he,
sacrificed to set us free:
Hallelujah, what a Savior!

4 He was lifted up to die;
"It is finished" was his cry;
now in heaven exalted high:
Hallelujah, what a Savior!

5 When he comes, our glorious King,
all his ransomed home to bring,
then anew this song we'll sing:
Hallelujah, what a Savior!

CHRIST IS MY ROCK

Christ is my rock, my refuge, my stronghold,
Firm as the tree's root that clutches the land.
He who has faith builds without worry, not like
the man who builds upon sand.
I set my house on a solid foundation
Christ is my rock the root of my soul's
recreation.
******

1) I know a man who loved to live "free",
He pitched his tent by the side of the sea.
It stood near the surf and was washed by the
spray
'Till one day a wave came and washed it away.
******

2) I know a man who loved to live high.
He built his castle near up to the sky,
Through summer and spring it stood pretty
well,
When winter winds whistled, it toppled and
fell.
******

3) I know a man, a cool one to know,
He built his house out of ice and of snow,
In chill isolation his night work was done,
But it melted away with the warm morning sun.
******

4) I know a man who built out of straw,
The flimsiest fellow that I ever saw,
One day a spark set it to flame,
And nothing was left to remember his name.
******

Christ is my rock, my refuge, my stronghold,
Firm as the tree's root that clutches the land.
He who has faith, builds without worry,
Not like the man who builds upon sand,
I set my house on a solid foundation,
Christ is my rock, the root of my soul's
recreation.

AT CALVARY

1

Years I spent in vanity and pride,
Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died
On Calvary.

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty,
 At Calvary.

2

By God’s Word at last my sin I learned;
Then I trembled at the law I’d spurned,
Till my guilty soul imploring turned
  To Calvary.

3

Now I’ve giv’n to Jesus everything,
Now I gladly own Him as my King,
Now my raptured soul can only sing
  Of Calvary.

4

Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!
Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span
  At Calvary!

Verse 1

I'll tell the world that I'm a Christian
I'm not ashamed His name to bear
I'll tell the world that I'm a Christian
I'll take Him with me anywhere
I'll tell the world how Jesus saved me
And how He gave me a life brand new
And I know that if you trust Him
That all He gave me He'll give to you
I'll tell the world that He's my Savior
No other one could love me so
My life my all is His forever
And where He leads me I will go

Verse 2

I'll tell the world that He is coming
It may be near or far away
But we must live as if His coming
Would be tomorrow or today
For when He comes and life is over
For those who love Him there's more to be
Eyes have never seen the wonders
That He's preparing for you and me
O tell the world that you're a Christian
Be not ashamed His name to bear
O tell the world that you're a Christian
And take Him with you ev'rywhere

The Reproach
1 and 2: My people, what have I done to you How have I offended you? Answer me!

What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my cleansing this I see—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
For my pardon this my plea—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

Nothing can my sin erase
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
Naught of works, ’tis all of grace—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

This is all my hope and peace—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
This is all my righteousness—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
