djohnson:
S=[n(2a+(n-1)d]/2
open bracket
S=2an+nd-d/2
cross multiple
2S=2an+nd
factor n out from left hand side
2S=n(2a+d)
divide both side by 2a+d

n=2s/2a+d QED

Oga ur "-d" in line 2 has disappeared o. Check again.

Thank you very much!!!

I never really understood why that formula was called almighty formula. I've only ever seen it been used to solve quadratic equations.

The missing bracket, we need to know if it is before or after the d.

Nice one

I must commend, your brain is too quick....... But truth be told if you actually solved what the op sent as screenshot then you failed it

So it's either the op question wasn't properly written..... On that initial n there was a bracket which was not enclosed

So how you got to your derivation I don't/can't still understand

Meanwhile do check my signature for more beautiful deals on electronics

question not correct, re write the question and I will solve it, you can't open a bracket without closing it.

n2 = [2S + d-2a]/d
Or

n = [(2S + d-2a)/d] ^0.5

Madame, you have murdered mathematics by throwing away the divisor, n along the line. Good attempt though

OP this the ansa i'ved solved it though using a small phone the shot is poor but i'll try to write the ansa here
