The only time they approach US Navy vessels is when they trespass into Iranian waters, which tends to happen alot due to the self-appointed title the US has given itself as Police of the world.

And the US does not want little skirmishes such as these devolving into an all out war like Trump would have most of you people believe. There are a number of reasons why the US cannot simply attack Iran and it does not have anything to do with who has the better military or weapons. Anyone old enough knows that alone does not guarantee victory in a war. Think I am lying, ask the US how they are doing in Afghanistan presently. Or how they did in Vietnam.

In wars it is always about the bigger picture, and not winning the immediate battle and right now the US (and by extension the Iranians) know they do not have it all figured out and may never.
