The Chief of Staff (CoS) portfolio under the current Nigeria’s presidency is unarguably the most powerful in recent history. https://dailypost.ng/2020/04/25/why-chief-of-staff-position-under-buhari-presidency-is-powerful/ 11 Likes 4 Shares

The office of Vice President, cabinet members, Chief of Staff, advisers and all aides derive their authorities and responsibilities from the president. In day to day governance, each of them including VP is therefore as powerful, influential or important as the President allows. Therefore, late Mallam Abba Kyari was powerful and influential as Chief of Staff because President Buhari allowed him. Just the same way former President Jonathan made Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala the coordinating Minister apart from being the Minister of Finance and allowed his wife Patience to become influential politically. 86 Likes 4 Shares |

Simply because the president have severe cognitively impairment hence intellectually incapable with background age related senility causing antero-&-retrograde amnesia hence unfit to handle the burden of governance.Abba Kyari was simply the defacto president while he held sway. 69 Likes 2 Shares |

Racoon:When was the last time you were happy or thought positively in your life? Buhari or Tinubu arent the ones with your umbilical cord o, the way you wake up everyday to wail about them is incomprehensible. If the president decides to make anyone powerful that is his prerogative. Your small god Jonathan who wasnt intellectually incapable had his WIFE, someone with no officially recognized designation in the constitution, as the most powerful person in the country after him. She made a commissioner of police more powerful than a sitting governor, yet you have the guts to come yap trash here. Las las, you will be alright. Meanwhile... 39 Likes 9 Shares

its very obvious. its the reason Tunde Idiagbon was the most powerful man during Buhari's military rule. Actually same reason Tinubu backed him despite previously calling him "an ethnic bigot, religious fanatic, agent of destabilisation". because he believed he could control him bt Abba Kyari and Mamman Daura had other plans Buhari is a functional .... 27 Likes 1 Share |

The only reason the position is powerful is because the President is clueless. He has no idea how to preside over a country. He is like a child who when he wants to bath, baths only his stomach and tells his mummy he has finished bathing. 45 Likes 2 Shares |

Nobody knew the Chief Of Staff to fomer presidents OBJ, YARADUA & GEJ because these presidents were fully in control of their offices and they were not brain-dead like the one we currently have in Aso-Rock who should have been in a retirement home where people would be changing his diapers. Buhari doesn't have a mind of his own to think & make crucial decisions and is so helpless therefore leaving his COS to do the decision making because he doesn't trust his V.P who is a Yoruba man. 31 Likes 3 Shares |
