1.0 Bible Verses on Thoughts

To start with, in the Book of GENESIS 1:27 "So God created human beings, making them to be like himself, He created them male & female". The Bible verse tells that we are created in God's image. Does this mean God is a physical being with nose, eyes, ears, mouth etc?

Let's check this out, the Book of JOHN 4:24 "God is Spirit and only by the power of His Spirit can people worship Him as He really is". What does that tell you? It tells you that God is not a physical being, rather a Spirit.

The Book of Hebrews 12:9 "In the case of our human fathers, they punished us and we respected them, how much more do we submit to Spiritual Father and live! What does this verse mean? It tells that God is the Father of all spirits.


The Book of Psalms 82:6 "You are gods, I said, all of you are children of the Most High". What does this imply? It tells us we are the children of God the Father of spirits. That is, humans are spirits.

Now, in the Book of Isaiah 55:8 "My thoughts are not your thoughts, my ways are not your ways". What does this mean? It means God(our Father) have thoughts just like we his children, humans have thoughts, but our thoughts are different from His. He said "His ways are not our ways" cos His thoughts influences His ways just like our human thoughts affects our actions.

He gave us a model of thoughts we should imbibe as evident in the Book of Philippians 4:8 "Whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things".

Also in the Book of Proverbs 23:7 "As someone thinks within himself, so he is".

The Book of Romans 12:2 "Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then, you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect". What does this verse mean? It means, you must pay the sacrifice of choosing to change your thoughts from negative to positive so you can be transformed by God into a new creature. This verse tells that the world have a standard of customs and behavior (religion).


1.1 Reasons for Africa/Nigeria Backwardness

The fundamental reason for Africa/Nigeria struggles and backwardness is due to her "lost definition of Spirituality". Africans/Nigerians have mistaken Spirituality for Religiosity, thereby causing a society of confused hypocritical people.
Also, our mistake of thinking Religiosity for Spirituality have caused us to make tiny or no progress in our earthy missions.
A major African/Nigerian populace perceives their problems from the outside instead of within. We are quick to blame our neighbors for faults that was created through misunderstandings of our own.
The negatives living in our hearts creates sadden thoughts that affects our relation with our neighbors, which in turn demands negative reactions from our neighbors.
We then behold an environment of enemies due to our negative thoughts. Am environment of enemies creates less opportunities.
We often pray for Divine assistance even though our hearts is filled with greed, selfishness, envy, hatred etc... all of which have been sabotaging Divine answers to our prayers.


1.2 Definition of Spirituality and Religiosity
What is Spirituality? According to me
Spirituality is an abstract string that have a direct influence in our physical world realities.That is,the spirit controls the physical.

What is Religiosity? According to me
Religiosity is organized beliefs meant to influence the followers of such religion to behave in a certain way.

Spirituality is a continuous discovery of oneself while Religiosity remain stale and unchanged.

Spirituality will make you progress while Religiosity affects you to remain the same.


1.3 Did Jesus came to teach Spirituality or Religiosity?
Jesus came to teach Spirituality and it's practical ways of effecting it in our everyday lives. Study Luke 11:37–54 and Matthew 23:1–39. Mark 12:35–40 and Luke 20:45–47.


1.4 The Components/Organs of the Spirit
The Spirit just like the physical body have its own components/organs. Some of the Spiritual components are (i) The thoughts (ii) the imaginations (iii) the visions (iv) the feelings (v) the emotions. All of these components of the Spirit listed are responsible for your Realities in the Physical world. When you abandon the usage of your thoughts, imaginations, visions, feelings and emotions, you will be influenced by outside elements which causes you to be Spiritually crippled.


1.5 How does my thoughts affects my realities?
Example 1:
I think of watching my darling Man United play Chelsea this weekend. My thoughts then caused me to imagine Odion Ighalo scoring 3 goals against Chelsea, the excitement I felt thinking & imagining Man United beating Chelsea will influence me priotise watching the football match, which I then carry out in action by walking from my house physically to the viewing center so as to fulfill my thoughts and imaginations (spiritual).

Example 2:
I think of becoming financially independent so I can be able to have enough to invest in charity. Then I begin to think of problems in the society and innovative ways of solving them. My thoughts then called my attention to cash crops and how it is going to ease hunger in the society.
This thought then propelled me to actions by meeting farmers and other relevant parties. Myself and the parties agreed on a deal and behold, my thoughts have become realities.

Example 3:
I think am old enough to have a life partner with some certain qualities of interest, like she must be intelligent. dark in complexion, compassionate and charitable. This thought of the kind of partner I desire guides my sense of choice where I will hardly make mistake of choosing the best woman for my soul.

Example 4:
Before I travel to Abuja, I thought about it;
Before I bought a brand new IVM SUV, I thought about it;
Before I chose to listen to Timi Dakolo song, I thought about it;
Before I send cash to my fiancee, I thought about it;
Before I call my Mum on phone to check on her, I thought about it;
Before I visit the Orphanage, I thought about it;
Before I pay a visit to the prison, I thought about it;
Before I go sharing free meal to Ajegunle residents. I thought about it.


1.6 Conclusion
Our thoughts have a direct influence on our actions while our actions determines the consequences we bear.
Alter your mind from negative thoughts and imbibe positivity. Positive thoughts alone is enough to unsurp joy and happiness from within.
