Guys in Abeokuta, please advise.
I'm thinking of relocating my family from Lagos to Abeokuta.
Here is my questions regarding this move.

1. Which locations in Abeokuta are considered very good to live with good light, road etc.
2. What's the range of cost of a miniflat(room and parlour self contained) or a 2 bedroom apartment in such areas.
3. What's the cost of living like in Abeokuta for a family of three(husband, wife and , baby)
4. How peaceful is Abeokuta
5. What is the cost of renting a good shop in a good location?

Thanks guys as I read your positive responses.

Kemta-Idiaaba-Elite road axis, Obada, Olorunsogo up to abiolaway and fajol estate in obantoko ,ibara housing estate, ewang estate, laderin estate, Okemosan grin. There are many such places. Do your research and visit to see for yourself. These are mid-highbrow areas and might be expensive. But places like iyana mortuary, ijaye up to itoku back to ibara and down to kuto area also have good electricity, not too bad roads but ancient shitty houses are the norm & water availability is a problem. Like I said, it depends on your tastes. Avoid student populated areas far from the city centre. Adigbe&Eleweran are notable mentions. Phcn only remembers to give them light when billing is near.

Cost is relative, there are places you can pay 2k excluding utilities etc per month for a room& shared toilet but I don't need to tell you how the environs will look like. While in some places you'll get a 3bedroom flat for like 150k per year but check well, water no fit dey the general environs or something else, reason for the cheap rent. For all the reasons you listed above budget like 230k.

Cost of living is relatively cheap. If you can live within your means, the better. Get your food items in bulk and directly from the farmers if you can before it gets to the retailers. Osiele market & olomore comes to mind.
Your wife can ask around.

Abeokuta is generally peaceful, even better in the well maintained estates. Quiet and Serene, same can't be said for the city centres tho. Riots & fights are rare, mostly at garages, markets and the very low income areas. Armed robbery cases depends on the head honcho in charge. Amosun faced them, his predecessor undecided and I don't really know about this current governor. And also depends on the area. Some have vigilantes and guards. Overall, incidents are quite low.

The answer to the last question is relative. The closer to the city centre the higher the price, a shop at lafenwa or rounder grin will cost lest than one at sapon or okeilewo.

But I promise you one thing, your lifespan will increase after you move over to abk. We Don't chase taxis or powerwalk like Lagos pipu. They even reverse while we catwalk. And there's little or no holdups except on market days. It's mostly a town for small businesses, retirees e.tc

Activities mostly revolve around Transportation, trading ,agric, mining, real estate and civil servant jobs.

I no get much to say oo. But Abeokuta dey very okay. Very very okay. I'm talking from personal experience though. Gt this woman wey dem transfer from Lagos to Abeokuta that year as mama see diff between Lagos and ABK, I no go lie you she run go buy land and build house asap. Abeokuta is very cheap and lovely. E no dey stressful at all unlike Lagos. Rent cost cheap, land to build also cheap. Olohun try ABK oo you no go regret am if you no pass your lane Sha, cos they are some areas in Abk wey dey very very expensive. Now in Elite 3bedroom apartment don dey pay 500k annually.
