WHEN SALT BECOMES AN INSULT…. COVID-19 SHED
LIGHT
Thank God today is Sunday (TGIS)
When our soil housed the biggest church auditorium in
the world, we clapped and thought it was a sign that
our religion is growing in impact and influence over the
land, not knowing we were wrong!
Before election when we saw the politicians flaunting
around Christian gatherings, we thought it was because
the God of the Bible has been accepted to determine
who shall lead the nation in righteousness instead of
relying upon inconclusive election, in fact; some of our
ministers were even employed as an ADHOC prayer
staff for political aspirants, may be purposely to
convince God with vigils, encounters, fasting and
quoting of countless scriptures that He (God) may
forcefully anoint Eliab instead of David over our
nations….. who knows?

Our pastors began to grow in material possessions,
send their families Abroad for Education and medicals
same way our politicians will do; we thought nothing was
really wrong since it was explained to us as a
demonstration of living in God’s prosperity and
provision, until the day CORONA VIRUS broke out in the
land.

Corona Virus came and a need to patronise ESSENTIAL
SERVICES and CLOSE DOOR AGAINST UN ESSENTIAL
SERVICES came. Then we now know the relevance of our
today Christianity is to our nation!
Market, Petrol stations, Banking sector, Hospitals,
Security services, Broadcasting Operations were
considered ESSENTIAL SERVICES but CHURCH was
classified alongside with Club house, Restaurant,
schools…e.t.c as NON-ESSENTIAL SERVICES:
If I may ask: have you even consulted a dictionary to
know the meaning of NON-ESSENTIAL SERVICE? This
classification only reveals that our society have come
to realise that without our weekly activities, and noise
generating from our horn speakers society will
survive....... What a shame!

Medical failed the government, Technology reveals his
incompetence before COVID-19 yet our government
believed we and our Jesus is non essential in this
matter, we were even on our thirtieth day of our
Annual forty days Fasting and prayers (Lenting
season) yet we were commanded to shut the door of our
gathering because we're non essential!
They even reminded us how Covid-19 have not spared
nor respected the anointing over the life of many of
our pastors living in Rome
is this not enough reason for us to cover our heads in
shame and go back to the Lord in sober reflection?
Where have we missed it and what have we done wrong?

I've heard of government coming to church to seek for
help in the days when hard matters arises, I have
heard of how organizations write letters to Church to
please send them their members to come fill vital
positions without going through any interview, those
days Christians sisters don't attract marriage
proposals with fasting and prayers, men have to force
themselves into Church law, order and Doctrines to
marry one, to tell you how much they're valued then.....
Until something went wrong in our days!
Matthew 5:13 (MSG)
"Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be
salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this
earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste
godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up
in the garbage.
That's the Bible beloveth
If we won’t talk away the truth, the reason for which
government see the need to close down church but
open wide market place where their is more congestion
than church worship is enough to tell you that
something is wrong with the church we are running in
our generation, may be we should go back to the Bible
to see how far we are away from the Apostolic
objectives.
If government in a period like this will boldly classify
our religious activity as a non-essential service and we
soberly accepted such; spiritualizing our defeat with
Roman Chapter thirteen without considering Act of
Apostle Chapter two to chapter four, without
remembering Daniel and the three Hebrew boys in
Babylon is the reason we are supposed to cover our
face in shame.

We kept shouting Jesus heals, Jesus heals yet in the
day when circumstance out weighs medical abilities the
society still see no need for us, perhaps they are yet
to be convinced about who we profess to be....... And
even the government we fasted to bring into power are
the first to lockdown our buildings!
Mind you never think I'm writing this to claim the ground
of the only existing "saint" NO! We're all involved in this
Shame and Insult!
Perhaps you don’t understand what it means for
Church to be classified as non-essential---- you may try
to check a dictionary as I've just did!
Even our congregation which we spent years in
teaching ACT OF FAITH forgot all we taught them and
became afraid before CORONA!
Brethren if truly action speaks louder than voice, I
belief we can boldly conclude that Covid-19 just reveal
to us how our leaders believe gathering in the market
squad is safer than gathering in our beautiful
cathedrals,
They just prove to us that gathering to bury an
appointee is better than gathering to worship the God
who created the appointee.
it means opening our unequipped hospitals and health
centers are much safer than opening our so-called
worship centers that is second to non in the world,
the government have just reasoned that if social
gathering must be ban then churches should be
included in such classification…. Could that have been
because the light, song, dress code and activities
going on in our cathedral seems not to be different
from how it's done in a social gathering?
Where and how do we miss it?
Even in the days when church wasn’t littered around
communities like it is among us today you dare not
ridicule them like this, Not to talk of shutting the
church even during the lenten season.
Have they forgotten how we televised and printed
supernatural healing that happened among us whenever
we gather?

Brethren of a Truth, something must be wrong with the
gospel we preach in our generation, something is not
right about the HOLINESS and RIGHTEOUSNESS we
seems to be propagating
CHURCH NOW CLASSIFIED AS NON ESSENTIAL SERVICE?
something is wrong..... May be we should revisit our
curriculum
And Should in case you have a different stand with
this writing, please don't be too quick to backlash me,
instead take a dictionary to know what Non-Essential
service could mean, then ask yourself why Church
should be categorized under such, before you finally
see the need to pray for the Church with Psalm 80.
I even heard of some jesters asking our pastors to
come into isolation centers to come prove the ability of
our God to heal, yet this same set of guys have
refused to ask themselves why same CORONA VIRUS
that was killing in hundreds daily in other nations enter
Nigeria and it is yet to kill in hundreds monthly in a
Nigeria where we have no medical and technological tool
to combat COVID-19..... Our God is faithful!
Thank you Jesus,
Thank you Father,
We proclaim You're King!
Our government downtone your deliverance in a day
like this because of how we have lust after materialism
and societal recognition yet we know you've not
forsaken your Church and our Nation..... Thank you
Jesus, Thank you Father!

........ Finally Brethren; let's pray
Arise, O God, plead Your own cause; remember
[earnestly] how the foolish and impious man scoffs and
reproaches You day after day and all day long.
Do not forget the [clamoring] voices of Your
adversaries, the tumult of those who rise up against
You, which ascends continually. Psalm 74:22-23 In
Jesus Name we pray... Amen.
