Former Deputy Senate President, and Senator representing Enugu West, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, on Friday, said the Federal Government has no power to seize funds belonging to State Governments over the implementation of the recent order signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Well, welcome to Buhari regime. All boundary lines were erased the day he was sworn in. RIP to separation of powers. I'm surprised that you still have confidence in the judiciary.

No system will ever be good in Nigeria. Am serious about it. The problem is not the law. The problem is the people.

They should have made a reset button for this country.

What is wrong with the governors complying

What are the governors afraid of The power they wield is reducing

I hope the traditional rulers also benefits from this cause many of them are better managers of their villages/towns

Ekweremadu should go and sit down

Better still go to court!!!

It's clear Ekweremadu is against democratic progress in Nigeria. So he wants state houses of assembly to continue being puppets of governors. IPOB are watching him.

Strangely, the vice president was at the fore front of the legal tussle, when Obasanjo's FG seized Lagos fund for the creation of LGs before the landmark judgement was given by the supreme court. One wonders why he cannot at this time advise the government he serves now from towing that same path.

Make no mistake, the LG, State Assemblies and Judiciary MUST have their autonomies, but like the egalitarian society we desire, things must be done in accordance to the constitution.
