if you are being pressured into marrying someone that you dont love just because the guy is rich and spends a lot of money on your family. and you are being pressured by your whole family especially your mom, what would you do? (did i mention that the guy is like twice your age?)

i will continue with the relationship, then i will find a way to divorce him,because his sperm will not produce good child.

kind of tough question. it depends on the kind of family the individual comes from, because no educated family with advanced knowledge would want their daughter to marry an old man. and i can't picture any of my family members talk less of my mum doing such thing. but if such arises, nothing anyone says, not even my mum would make me go against my decision. i would not call it disrespecting her at that moment, because she herself is wrong.

yeh ThoniaSlim your right it depends on how your brought up i dont think ma parent will do dat to me even though im only 16, dey just tell me  when im older and  i want to marry  i ave to marry someone who frm nigeria which im kool wit.

it shows you are a guy,was it ur girlfriend being pressurised to marry someone or ur sister.
either way i think the mothers think they know what is best for their daughters because that was how they got married,i think it is up to the girl to stand up for herself and say she is not intersted in the man and make the parents see reason.
another reason might be if the girl`s parents are not very well to do,this rich guy can capitalise on this fact and offer to spend as much money as possible to convince the parents.
it is up to the girl`s father to make the big decision and say he is not intersted in the suitor`s money,the mothers are somewhat greedy.or dont want their daughters to expire for house
