It's certainly not advisable but most of the comments here seem to say the couple MUST have an SS child. That is not correct. Every pregnancy has 25% chance of an SS child. Many have gone down the route without any SS child. Still not advised but the risk should be put in adequate context..

I will discourage not to marry but this doesn't mean all your four children will be will be SS but you might be lucky you give birth to AA & AS first and then you seal up, it has happened in my family.

Don't do it

You can still marry her if you are both committed. The only thing is that you should not conceive naturally but through IVF with genetic testing. That way there's no chance of bringing in an SS child to suffer in this world. Every pregnancy still has a good 75% chance of not being SS but it's definitely not worth the risk.

Don't make a decision you will regret in life

There is what is called prenatal sickle cell diagnosis, its a DNA analysis of the foetus, it help to determine the genotype of the unborn child, the test is usually done in the 12th week of pregnancy, if the test reveal the unborn child is SS you and your wife can make an informed decision to abort the pregnancy, this test is expensive and right now only done in Lagos, its just an option rich people are exploring in this kind of situation, other than this I will advise you to back out because you and your wife will not forgive yourselves if you guys have an SS child, weigh your options before going ahead with the marriage, later in life you will find out that marriage goes beyond I love you I love you.
