May God punish all our past and present corrupt leader. Our government have failed us, instead of them investing in education, they are looting, sending their children to abroad and embezzling funds.

I have been enjoying the various pictures of some of the universities in Nigeria posted on Nairaland, and I have decided to post pictures of my alma mater the University Of Ghana which I believe has one of the most beautiful campuses in West Africa with a lot Greenery and infrastructure with an environment conducive for effective learning and teaching.

Located on and around the hills of Legon (Translated to knowledge Hill in the Ga language of Ghana ) Just some few Kilometers from Accra city center UG has always been the pride of Ghana producing some of the most prominent people and leaders in Ghana.

op thanks for giving us a detailed picture of the university.

One of the biggest challenges to the quality of infrastructure is our population size and the crazy rates of increase. It strains infrastructure and wears them out very quickly and where you adopt a structure that does not sanction or at least discourage this rapid population increase then the result is constant infrastructural decay.

A taxi will always wear out faster than a private vehicle of the same brand for the same reason. Those foreign universities will only admit what they can adequately cater for. No more. But ours are massively over subscribed.

In my time we were only 34 admitted to the Department that session of which 21 graduated and 5 of us proceeded immediately for a Master's degree with 6 joining in from other universities. We were three in a regular sized hostel room at induction but by my final year I had a room all to myself.

We are killing ourselves by breeding like rodents. That isn't life at all.

Most of you joining the bandwagon. If the first few posters had rubbished this university, many of you would do same.

These are mostly drone pictures and what I see can't even stand with OAU in comparison. Oau beats this school in buildings. The environment and flowers aren't even as beautiful as OAU.

Please just shut up abeg.

How can you compare OAU infrastructures with this?

It's okay if you compared it in terms of productivity, but please take OAU about of the question while discussing edification

Who did we offend in Nigeria?
Is it actually a curse to be a Nigerian?
This have dwarfed all the so called elite universities in Nigeria altogether.
Nigeria is a dead giant of Africa.

Dwarfed everything including those shoddy private Uni.

Let's switch this this to secondary schools. Can't wait to see Achimota vs KC

Doesn't this just look like a more conducive environment for learning?

A poor environment can very easily sidetrack some one who could be a brilliant student elsewhere. That's why average students in Nigeria go abroad and dust everyone.

God bless the OP. Our country is one of the most backwards in terms of infrastructure but our stupid youths will be here glorifying ghettos and quack infrastructures.

Visit University of Nairobi, Kenya and Makelele University, Uganda, you will be marvelled.

Our architects are not creative and innovative when it comes to beauty and aesthetics in building.

I bet you, if a Nigerian contractor had built that teaching hospital shown in the picture, he wouldn't bother with the exterior landscape. It would be left like that with the heaps of sand, planks and other things.

Tufiakwa! Let's stop glorifying mediocrity in this country abeg,

See men chest beating over mediocre. Not worthy enough to be secondary schools.

They were born into mediocrity and they saw that as the norm thats why they thought they have wings to fly.

Shame
