That's Lagos for you. ONLY God is saving us. Once I know the location is obscure, I always forfeit it. They're very rampant in Lagos, they uses locations like Aja, Lekki and this same ikeja. This people are even fair, they do butchers and sell human parts. Wicked souls

I expect nairaland to discuss how to avoid scam job advert elaborately but no, they choose to dwell more on Regina daniels and ned nwoko. He is a guy and he got lucky, I wonder the date of the ladies. Please any interview you are scheduled improptu for the next day know that it is scam, those scheduled for evenings, don't go, funny company's name, run away, jobs you never applied for, vermoos, unprofessional interview sms, na dem, no history of the the company in Google search link, bad idea. Please guys stay safe. It's better to be alive and jobbless than dead with unfulfilled dreams. Don't fall prey.

You never mentioned the exact location
soulstalker:
I went for an interview somewhere at Ikeja. On getting to the venue, I met some ladies at the front of the gate, there wasn't any security guard. the ladies escorted me in, asked of how I got the interview information which I showed them on my phone, then they gave me a seat outside the premises where other invitee were seated. I was 4th on the attendance list but I already met over 10 people on seat while some were inside the building having lectures or training (who knows).

After 20-30 minutes, I started hearing some noise outside the gate, when I went out to check what was going on, I saw a guy holding one of the ladies that escorted me, he was shouting on top of his voice that he knew the lady from a previous interview he went to from another location exactly a year ago. He said they were ritualist, that they change locations so as not to get caught. He mentioned losing a friend who also came to the last interview but died few weeks later, that he also fell very sick but was taken to his village for spiritual help. That it was in his village he was told that they have been used for rituals along with his friend.

He said alot of atrocities they committed, he told us how they operate which I also noticed, the lady was pleading to him not to shout.
I couldn't believe it, I took to my heels, but I later heard the police have gone there to take them away, because I couldn't wait to watch the film to the end.

I wish this can get to the front page so alot of people can also learn from my experience.

Story for the gods.it happens though and I hope those with ears, will take it to heart and just be Careful

Those idiots normally send the interview sms always. I reply them with a curse. I know they are bad people. Inviting someone for a job he never applied for. One was using Agidingbi as the venue . I never honoured such invite.

if ur story is true, i see no reason for omitting the address, name of company and the number they used in texting you.
Ur case is hereby thrown out of the court of public opinion for lacking merit.

A device should be manufactured and worn around the neck like a pendant on a chain by every Nigerian. This device should be an alarm such that if the wearer presses it, it would make a loud piercing sound to alert people around that the wearer is in trouble. Every body in Nigeria should wear one. It will reduce incidences of rape, kidnap, robbery, one chance etc as people within the vicinity will quickly swing into action. Children should be taught how to operate this device when they are in danger.
grin and the noise everywhere will be more than that of Osodi .

A similar thing happened to my colleague's neighbor some years back in Port Harcourt, but in his case they were kidnappers.

He got a text message for job interview from supposed World Bank and the location was at Diobu (a densely populated low cost residential area with hardly any notable corporate offices of organisations). Imagine a whole World Bank and it's not at the business district or the high brow part of town. He ignored all the red flags and went to Cherubim Street on the stated date.

He recounted meeting over 30 persons also invited for the interview, after a brief wait a bus was brought in that they were to be conveyed to the organization's office. That was how he got missing for 3 days plus before his family got a call with demands for his ransom.

People should be careful of interview invites especially those they did not apply for as well as verify its authenticity before the said date of the interview.

How come you didn't mention the name of the "organisation", their phone numbers, address and other details so that people can be more informed?
