Do not be deceived, HELL IS DEATH. The Creator of mankind and the Universe is the GOD of Life. He designed the Universe and saw that it was good. When God completed the creation of life as we understand it today, there was no place for the wicked or wickedness: There was no place designed to perpetually imprison those who went against the ordered laws of nature. The punishment for going against this order, as was spelt out to Adam was a return to nothingness, to death. Better put, death is the separation from life, out of which man was created, and not a state of living in eternal torment.

The Bible teaches how God created the heavens and the earth. It also teaches how God will recreate what was originally created - the new heavens and the new earth. Although hell and hell fire are repeatedly mentioned in the Bible, we do not need to associate this with a place of eternal torment, where the devil remains king, torturing sinful ones in eternal and unquenchable fire. The doctrine of an eternal God of Peace, keeping his worshipers in eternal bliss and unrighteous ones in eternal torment, has arguably, done more harm than good to the gospel of truth.

No one in the Bible preached more about Hell than Jesus. Jesus is the embodiment of God’s grace and truth, and yet He talks about Hell.

Love warns because love doesn’t want to see loved ones suffer harm.

If from your home window you saw your loved one crossing the road downstairs, and a speeding vehicle was charging towards them, wouldn’t you shout out an urgent warning to them?

Jesus warned about Hell because He knows how terrible that place is for the tormented souls.

It is a place that is so torturous, that it is better to cut off your hands, feet and gouge out your eyes, than to end up in Hell. Think about that!

Many are not preaching about Hell correctly. Yes it’s hot and full of undying worms, but only an unbeliever can go there upon death.

Preaching about Hell is powerful in evangelism. It presents the problem that mankind needs saving from. Why would a person think he needs to be saved, if he doesn’t know the consequence of not being saved?

Preaching about Hell should be appropriately combined with the truth about the Ten Commandments of the Law—that we have all sinned and failed to keep them.

Because God is so holy, He cannot allow sinful man in His presence, so the departed spirit of a sinner must be imprisoned in Hell, forever separated from the joys of Heaven. The spirit is eternal and never ceases to exist, so the torment continues forever.

If committing a crime against an earthly king is deserving of death, then what punishment is fitting for committing a lifetime of sins against the King of Heaven and earth?

God is exceedingly patient towards sinners, giving them chances throughout their lifetime to hear about Jesus, and to seek the true God in prayer.

The Ten Commandments must be kept perfectly in both thought (inward) and deed (outward) if one desires to be justified through it. One transgression is enough to condemn a person to Hell.

“For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.” (James‬ ‭2:10-11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

It is impossible for man to keep the Law, because of sin in the flesh that we inherited from Adam. From the moment we were born, we were tainted by sin and pre-disposed to commit sin.

Left to ourselves, we would surely be condemned to Hell
.

But because God loves us—His creation who are made in His image, He sent Jesus to pay the full price of our sins, so that we would not have to bear the punishment ourselves.

Our sins were laid upon Jesus Christ at the cross, and God the Father poured out His fiery wrath against sin upon Jesus at the cross. He bore your punishment, so that you can go free.

Jesus was then raised from the dead on the third day, never to die again, to proclaim that your sins have really been paid in full.

Had He not been a perfect substitute for you, He wouldn’t have been raised to eternal life in a glorified body.

There would be no righteous basis for that to happen if He was a sinner.

But because He is sinless, Death had no claim over Him. He rose victoriously, testifying that all our sins have been forgiven.

When you place your faith in Jesus as Lord, you’re accepting Jesus’ payment on your behalf, and you are forgiven of all the sins that you will ever commit.

Think about it: when did Jesus die for you? When your parents were not even born yet. All your sins were future sins, and He bore the punishment for them all.

All charges that were formerly against you are cleared because they were imputed to Jesus at the cross.

Through faith in Him, you are reborn as a perfectly righteous spirit, adopted into God’s own family.

You are reconciled to God, and will enjoy eternal life with Him.

Hell is real, but preachers need to stop using it to intimidate born-again believers into behavior modification! Fear and insecurity can never produce the fruit of holy living. Only the Gospel truly transforms!

We have to keep hearing the good news of how through Jesus’ finished work at the cross, all our sins have been totally forgiven. It is only through the revelation of believing how great this forgiveness you have received is, that you will produce the good fruit of loving God and fellow men.

Once in a while, pause and remind yourself how great is this salvation you have received. You have been snatched out of Hell’s mouth, and safely placed in Christ, at God’s right hand in Heaven.

“Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter! If you say, “Behold, we didn’t know this”; doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?” (Proverbs‬ ‭24:11-12‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Revelation 21:8, KJV: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
Where in this passage was it stated that people will burn for eternity in hell without dieing? I think you misunderstood what "everlasting doom and punishment" means. Death in the Bible means total separation from God. It is not a life of suffering for eternity in hell. The everlasting there doesn't in anyway mean that the suffering will continue till eternity rather it potrays the irreversible nature of the second death. The first death like people die today is seen in the Bible as sleep and not a permanent one as all the dead will rise when Christ comes. The second death is the permanent and irreversible death.

Like i said earlier, Hold on to what you believe but it will be better to accept the TRUTH.

Hell always sounded like a cynical marketing ploy designed to make people afraid to leave or displease the particular sect. And it seemed to really kill empathy - 'god says they burn, they burn' doesn't make me think of someone being full of love and compassion and all that.

Eternal punishment for finite transgressions always seemed abusive to me. How can someone look at the idea of a being who would condemn people to that and call it love?

Even when I was a Christian Hell was just too weird for me to accept. Infinite punishment for finite offenses is an eye for an eye on steroids. Punishing people for disobeying nit-picky rules makes God an abusive parent. One reason often given for punishment is to teach the offender not to offend again, but if punishment is eternal then how can the offender benefit from this teaching? Jesus is supposed to be into forgiveness but forgiveness shouldn't involve eternal suffering. Hell isn’t redemptive, it isn’t leading to repentance, it’s simply pain for pain’s sake.

I love this quote: “Heaven and hell seem out of proportion to me: the actions of men do not deserve so much.”

and of course I get the rationalisation of hell by Christians saying its moral accountability and saying bad people go to hell;
that's nonsense and they know it!!!

If Yahweh is real and omniscient, that means he already decided that we're going to hell before he even created us. But if this omniscient deity allows for deathbed conversions, then it doesn't matter what kind of life you lead. You could be a brutal dictator who massacred tens of millions of people, yet still get into heaven if you tell Jesus you're sorry. Your victims could all go to hell for eternity if they never repented. That's how bleeped up Christian morality is.

Maybe Christians can answer a few questions for me. The Bible says that there is ONLY ONE way to get into Heaven: by accepting salvation through Jesus.

So it follows that the Christians who ran the Nazi death camps can get into heaven. But their 6 million Jewish victims must burn for all eternity in the pits of Hell. I've talked to many Christians about this and they just pretty much accept it.

My questions are:

1. How f***ed up do you have to be to believe Nazis can go to Heaven but their 6 million Jewish victims must burn? That's just sick. But Christians believe it. What the f*** is wrong with you people?

2. Why would ANYONE willinregly worship a god that would act like that? Is it just a fear thing (better known as cowardice)? And

3. Even if you get into Heaven what makes you think you'll be safe with a psycho god like that running the place? What's to stop your god getting a wild hair up his ass one day and sending Christians to a place so bad it makes Hell look like an ice cream parlor? He used to like the Jews too. Or so the s atory claims. What makes you think you're safe?

It is a pity you are nolonger a christian..but the truth is that Hell was smuggled into the bible by the Roman leaders. If the bible never mentioned Adam and eve to be in hell for been the originators of sin, or people destroyed during Sodom and Gomorrah or people destroyed during the Noah's days...then it will be so foolish to believe the teaching of Hell. The funniest thing is that people who believe in the teaching of Hell are the one's managing the affairs of world. Looting, greedy and killing. What if they do not believe in HELL? Wetin dem for dey e.

Hell (“Sheol” and “Hades” in the Bible’s original languages) is simply the grave, not a place of fiery torment. Who go to hell? Both good people and bad people. (Job 14:13; Psalm 9:17) The Bible says that this common grave of mankind is “the house of meeting for everyone living.”—Job 30:23.

Even Jesus went to hell when he died. However, “he was not kept in hell,” because God resurrected him.—Acts 2:31, 32, The Bible in Basic English.

Is hell eternal?
All those who go to hell will come back out, brought to life by Jesus through God’s power. (John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15) Speaking of that future resurrection, the prophecy at Revelation 20:13 says that “death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them.” (King James Version) Once hell has been emptied, it will no longer exist; no one will ever go there again because “death will be no more.”—Revelation 21:3, 4; 20:14.

Not everyone who dies goes to hell, though. The Bible shows that some people become so steeped in wickedness that they are beyond repentance. (Hebrews 10:26, 27) When such ones die, they go, not to hell, but to Gehenna, which is a symbol of everlasting destruction. (Matthew 5:29, 30) For example, Jesus indicated that some of the hypocritical religious leaders in his day would go to Gehenna.—Matthew 23:27-33.

As much as people want to deny that it exists, hell remains real for satan and his followers.

The good news is that Jesus has paid the price so that people don't go to hell. So the people that will go to hell will go there because they refuse to accept that Jesus paid for their sins.

Simply put, hell remains a beckoning reality for any one who rejects the saving grace that only Jesus offers.

Pay what price? grin
Your god created Lucifer who became Satan.
Punished Adam and Eve for eating an apple, even though he's omniscient and knew they'd do it.
When sin became too much, even though he foresaw it, he decided to kill all humans, even though he knew they wouldn't listen to Noah. After destroying humans, he didn't even think for a second to destroy Satan (the root of the problem) once and for all. Yet he allowed Satan live and thrive. Many years later, sin had been restored and the earth was as sinful as it was before he destroyed the earth with flood. He now sends his son to die for the sins of people. To pay the debt that who the fvck is owing? To save people from the same hell that God himself created.
Do you people use your brains at all? undecided

Dear, the Bible says that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life, Romans 6:23. This very Scripture disproves all that you have said here. How? Your teaching here that people are kept in hell to suffer for ever contradicts this Scripture in that for people to suffer for ever in hell as you have said, such persons would need to be alive. If that is the case, it then means they will live for ever in order to suffer for ever. The question now is did God say that everlasting life is for the wicked? No. Everlasting life is God's promise for the righteous.
So what is the fate of the wicked who refused to repent? The answer is found in what God told Adam and Eve the first sinners on earth. What did God tell them? When God was passing judgement on Adam after he had sinned, God told Adam: "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread. Out of the ground you were taken, for dust you are and to dust you will return." Genesis 3:19. So the punishment for sin is forfeiture of life. Hell in the Bible means the grave or the condition of the dead.
God can kill with fire as he did against Sodom and Gomorrah, but God does not torture with fire.
The concept of hell as a place of fire reserved for the wicked is not Bible teaching and it dishonours God, our loving Creator.

This is the indisputable Truth of God's word. Thank you.

You call this sermon that dishonours God a great sermon. So you believe God will keep people somewhere and they will be burning inside fire for ever. For what sin really? And he will take you to heaven. He will also destroy the earth. Where did you people read all that unfounded ideas in the Bible? These are lies told by people who say they know God. Abhorrable!
God will not burn people in a place called hell, that is the wicked imagination of those who do not know God. If there is a place of fire meant for the wicked, the first people that would have gone there would have been Adam and his wife Eve. But God said their punishment is total forfeiture of life; they returned to dust, Genesis 3:19.
God says he has firmly established the earth forever. The earth has been created to remain for ever, it will NEVER be destroyed. Psalm 104:5, Isaiah 45:18, Matthew 5:5, Psalm 37:29.
Study your Bible and escape being taught abhorrable lies.

Op, can u explain more on this?

"Hell is real, but preachers need to stop using it to intimidate born-again believers into behavior modification! Fear and insecurity can never produce the fruit of holy living. Only the Gospel truly transforms!"
.
Behavior modification is very important to born agains. Old nature vs new nature. Also, some people who are not born again think they are. Eg christians who dress like prostitutes and sing immoral songs.

I love this quote: “Heaven and hell seem out of proportion to me: the actions of men do not deserve so much.”

and of course I get the rationalisation of hell by Christians saying its moral accountability and saying bad people go to hell;
that's nonsense and they know it!!!

2. Why would ANYONE willingly worship a god that would act like that? Is it just a fear thing (better known as cowardice)? And

3. Even if you get into Heaven what makes you think you'll be safe with a psycho god like that running the place? What's to stop your god getting a wild hair up his ass one day and sending Christians to a place so bad it makes Hell look like an ice cream parlor? He used to like the Jews too. Or so the story claims. What makes you think you're safe?

Please, are you done?

You should also query the gods of those in one cult or the order why their gods will kill them once they go contrary to the oath taken or the order and why orders will keep progression heavily so long as they keep to the order.

Spiritual ways can never be the same with the ways of carnality.
Until you break the limitation of carnality and attend that spiritual height, you'll never understand why some certain things are the way they are.

You were once a Christian, now you and no more. Believe what u want and leave others to their own beliefs.

Trash!

Religion thrives on fear.

It is ridiculous to think a God that you haven't seen will throw u into hell because you didn't obey him. This is the exact reason I decided to stay far away from the religion.

Teaching absurd nonsense
You did not read through the text. There is no where it says its God that throws u in hell. You are on your way there, God only provided a solution

Here is the ABC of Salvation:

A-Acknowledge the fact that you are a sinner and that you can not save yourself. Psalms 51: 5
B- Believe that it is only Jesus that can save you. Romans 10:10, Acts 4: 12
C- Confess your sins, repent from them and be converted (Never go back to them). Romans 10: 9. Call upon Jesus to forgive you and be saved today (Romans 10:13).

Follow these steps now please! Tomorrow may be too late! Death may come, Rapture may take place before you act! Don't delay!!!

Preaching about Hell is powerful in evangelism. It presents the problem that mankind needs saving from. Why would a person think he needs to be saved, if he doesn’t know the consequence of not being saved?

THIS IS THE POINT I GOT FROM THIS MESSAGE.

Saved from what?..
