There is a post currently in religious section about how Christianity is declining in the UK. according to the survey, it says there are currently 35 percent of Christian in the UK compare to 50 percent as of 2008 and 66 percent in 1983. this is UK. this not turkey and one Islamic country and Islam and atheist are more in UK.

So i want us to pray. And we will also be using this medium to pray for Nigeria as well. I was so disturbed in my spirit when I read it. I have been praying, and I want us in our own little time just say a word of prayer for UK. the Bible says the light shineth and darkness comprehend it not. let us pray that those few Christian still in UK, that there light should shine so that others will come to the light who is the Lord Jesus Christ. And let us destroy every work of the devil standing against the growth of Christianity in UK. in Nigeria and in our neighborhood.

UK is actually a country that is beginning to understand the teachings of Christianity. They love their neighbours, they are trying to love their enemies, and know that in as much as they do unto those they see they have done unto the Lord God whom they see not. But of course that's not Christianity as understood by Nigerians who happen to think believing is what God wants of them despite warnings about Lord Lordism and hubris and trembling demons.

I pray that the eyes of Nigerians open to an understanding of God, in Jesus Mighty Name.

God's intervention is usually the sending of someone, i.e. Moses to the enslaved Israelites, Jonah to the wicked in Nineveh, Jesus to the sick, so perhaps the prayer should be more with the ears and less with the mouth.

Christianity in Nigeria is "Lord send someone", so I shall accuse you of being Nigerian!

In the sentiment of removing forests from one's eye first, O Lord God, do not send someone. Please send me!

I think you misread me. I am not particularly concerned with twigs in the eyes of others. My concern is the forest in my own eyes.

Perhaps listen carefully to the words.

John 9 vs 35 - 41
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
35. When Jesus heard that they had forced the man to leave, he found him and asked him, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
36. The man said, “Tell me who he is, sir, so I can believe in him.”
37. Jesus said to him, “You have already seen him. The Son of Man is the one talking with you now.”
38. The man answered, “Yes, I believe, Lord!” Then he bowed and worshiped Jesus.
39. Jesus said, “I came into this world so that the world could be judged. I came so that people who are blind[a] could see. And I came so that people who think they see would become blind.”
40. Some of the Pharisees were near Jesus. They heard him say this. They asked, “What? Are you saying that we are blind too?”
41. Jesus said, “If you were really blind, you would not be guilty of sin. But you say that you see, so you are still guilty.”
When I say God's intervention is needed, I mean God Himself would need to do something for change to be effected in the Nigerian situation. These people are like those Jesus Christ spoke up in the passage above. undecided

God didn't influence me through another though. He did exactly what He said He would do in Jeremiah 31

Jeremiah 31 vs 31-34 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
31. “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32. not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord.
33. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
Why does that seem hard to believe?

Not suggesting that God's Will is man's will but we know that when a man lives in submission to God's Will, then God does want for a man to have that which he, man, asks for, and He does grant man the desires of his, man's heart.
budaatum:

If that was not the case, God would have come down to earth himself and there would have been no need for Jesus.

Did those studies include a look at the life of, say, the disciples of Jesus Christ, and someone like Paul as well? God Himself intervened in the very lives of the disciples... all 12 of them. God's own human avatar, Jesus Christ, taught them, the disciples, and many of those who lived in that time, albeit out of the thousands He, God's human avatar, preached to, only a handful ended up His followers in the end.

As for Saul, we read the story, in the book of Acts, of how he was an enemy to Jesus Christ and His followers, and of how Jesus Christ Himself intervened, not in the flesh, on Saul's way to Damascus. Jesus Christ is said to have then sent one of His own to heal Paul, also serving as a witness to the others of Paul's transformation.
God didn't influence me through another though. He did exactly what He said He would do in Jeremiah 31

Jeremiah 31 vs 31-34 (ERV)

And the very same God is more than able to reach His own wherever and whenever they are. It happened to me, so I believe that it can happen to millions of other Nigerians who are desperate for God but not certain why they are still unable to reach the Father, even after so many years of hoping and believing.

Prayers offered by those who have God's approval are powerfully effective and accomplishes much. Naija's prayers, have yet to amount to much because they haven't God's approval.

The God action and process of intervening has 2000 years ago already being done. If Naija had done the right thing, Naija would be fine, smiling and her countenance be lifted up (i.e. Genesis 4:7)

It is possible before getting to any level of understanding to not be tutored and/or be guided by someone.

For example, like Kobojunkie does here, speaking boldly upandan the forum, Apollos was already preaching boldly, before he was invited home by Priscilla and Aquila, to be tutored and guided.

What level of understanding do you mean?
I was tutored or, I like to say, tortured by God as He caused me to seek answers to the questions that plague my mind.

I think you need to read Jeremiah 31 again to understand exactly what God said and meant, and did in my situation, and will do in the lives of those who He calls up.

Jeremiah 31 vs 31-34 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
31. “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32. not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord.

34. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
It was never His design for people to depend on others to teach them about God in the first place. That is why what you know of as Christianity is a joke compared to what it was in the beginning. Man, by default, is a liar and cannot be trusted with the handling and administration of the things of God. In Jeremiah 17 vs 5, He pronounced a curse on any man who trusts another man or gets his strength from flesh and blood (e.g. having men as mentors is wrong).

Acts 18 vs 24 - 28
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
24. A Jew named Apollos came to Ephesus. Born in the city of Alexandria, he was an educated man who knew the Scriptures well.
25. He had been taught about the Lord and was always excited[c] to talk to people about Jesus. What he taught was right, but the only baptism he knew about was the baptism that John taught.
26. Apollos began to speak very boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him speak, they took him to their home and helped him understand the way of God better.
27. Apollos wanted to go to Achaia. So the believers in Ephesus helped him. They wrote a letter to the Lord’s followers in Achaia and asked them to accept Apollos. When he arrived there, he was a great help to those who had believed in Jesus because of God’s grace.
28. He argued very strongly against the Jews before all the people. He clearly proved that the Jews were wrong. He used the Scriptures and showed that Jesus is the Messiah.
So, your reference is wrong!
Re: Lets Come Together And Pray For UK by Nobody: 8:39pm On Jul 15, 2020
The Lord Jesus Christ, in the gospel of Matthew 28, gave this express command to His disciples before His ascension:
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always,, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The assignment of teaching all nations was first delegated to the disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, meaning the Lord Jesus Christ Himself commissioned them to teach people/nations all He had commanded. So for you to think God has never used anyone to help you know and grow is like hiding behind a finger.

FYI, you may deny it if you like, God has been positioning people to influence and tilt you the way of God right before you even know right from left.

32The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture:
“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so He did not open His mouth.

- Acts 8:30-32

The post has an air of heresy about it due from. The Ethiopia eunuch (i.e. black skinned man) clearly requested for human guidance and which Stephen, the first Gospel martyr, without hesitation gave him.

" This is what the LORD says:
“Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans,
who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD.
"
- Jeremiah 17:5

You have turned Jeremiah 17:5 up on its head. Stephen wasn't relying on his intelligience, knowledge and power. He drew his strength, his cue, his command, his instruction et cetera from God.

Notice that at Acts 8:26, it was an angel of God who told Philip to leave Jerusalem and go to Gaza. Then at Acts8:32, the Holy Spirit then instructed Philip to go to the Ethiopia eunuch (i.e. black-skinned man), saying “Go over to that chariot and stay by it.

No man is an island. God created as social beings. We need each other. Not one person has a monopoly of knowledge. We can 100% live in an echo chamber. Man need each other. Yoruba will say, you cant use only just one hand, to fiam, carry, lift and put heavy load for head.

So for you to think God has never used anyone to help you know and grow is like hiding behind a finger.
So are you saying God lied then?
I know you want to believe this is about my person but the truth really is you don't believe God meant what He said in those verses in Jeremiah 31 because if you did, you would not ask me the question you just did.

Truth does not exist in isolation of other truths, or else it is nothing but a lie. When you read what you read of the word of Jesus Christ, be sure you take the message in as a whole, and not in bits because by doing that, you rob your own self of the truth of His very message. That is why I advice people to try to read each book of the gospel as if reading a novel so you get a better grasp of the entire story and not end up picking at the truth and ending up with nothing in the end.

Here's a small exercise and this requires a bit of logical thinking because we are after all dealing with truth and the Bible translation we are reading from is written in human language after all. So, here goes...
* The same Jesus Christ who gave His disciples the command to go preach the gospel to all the world, also taught that all of His followers would learn from Him as you can see in the passage below

Matthew 11 vs 27-30 (ESV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
27. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
* Jesus Christ also added that the words He spoke, were not His words but the Father's own words...all that He taught were teachings from the Father Himself (Jesus Christ is after all the word of God made flesh)

John 14 vs 8 - 14 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father. That is all we need.”
9. Jesus answered, “Philip, I have been with you for a long time. So you should know me. Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father too. So why do you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10. Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The things I have told you don’t come from me. The Father lives in me, and he is doing his own work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or believe because of the miracles I have done.
11. “I can assure you that whoever believes in me will do the same things I have done. And they will do even greater things than I have done, because I am going to the Father.
12. And if you ask for anything in my name, I will do it for you. Then the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son.
13. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.
* In the passage below, Jesus Christ warns His disciples to never see themselves as Teacher/Master/Instructor/Rabbi etc , commanding that He and He alone be their only Teacher/Master/Instructor/Rabbi etc.

Matthew 23 vs 8-12
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers.[c]
9. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.
10. Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ.
11. The greatest among you shall be your servant.
12. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
* Then in the following passage, Jesus Christ tells His disciples that He would leave them with the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Truth, who He declares will teach His followers ALL THINGS...

John 14 vs 25-31 (ESV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
15. “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
16. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper,[f] to be with you forever,
17. even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be[g] in you.
18. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
19. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
20. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
21. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”
22. Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?”
23. Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
24. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.
25. “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you.
26. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
27. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
28. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
29. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe.
30. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me,
31. but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here.
* In the passage below... we see John, one of His disciples, instructing all believers around the world, not to trust in the words of men, but instead trust in and let the Spirit of God teach them everything.

1 John 3 vs 20-27 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20. You have the gift[a] that the Holy One[b] gave you. So you all know the truth.
21. Do you think I am writing this letter because you don’t know the truth? No, I am writing because you do know the truth. And you know that no lie comes from the truth.
22. So who is the liar? It is the one who says Jesus is not the Messiah. Whoever says that is the enemy of Christ—the one who does not believe in the Father or in his Son.
23. Whoever does not believe in the Son does not have the Father, but whoever accepts the Son has the Father too.
24. Be sure that you continue to follow the teaching you heard from the beginning. If you do that, you will always be in the Son and in the Father.
25. And this is what the Son promised us—eternal life.
26. I am writing this letter about those who are trying to lead you into the wrong way.
27. Christ gave you a special gift. You still have this gift in you. So you don’t need anyone to teach you. The gift he gave you teaches you about everything. It is a true gift, not a false one. So continue to live in Christ, as his gift taught you.
So, my question to you again is this.... if you really believe the word of God, Jesus Christ, is indeed Truth, and you believe in God, why do you find it unbelievable that God Himself would teach His own about Himself? undecided

Why do you believe there ought to be a go-between when God specified that there is no need for such.... for He will Himself teach His people about Himself? undecided

"24A Jew named Apollos, who had been born in Alexandria, arrived in the city of Ephesus. He was an eloquent speaker and knew how to use the Scriptures in a powerful way.
25He had been instructed in the Lord's way and spoke enthusiastically. He accurately taught about Jesus but knew only about the baptism John performed.
26He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him,
they took him [home] with them and explained God's way to him more accurately
27When Apollos wanted to travel to Greece, the believers [in Ephesus] encouraged him.
They wrote to the disciples in Greece to tell them to welcome him.
When he arrived in Greece, God's kindness enabled him to help the believers a great deal.
28In public Apollos helped them by clearly showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah and that the Jews were wrong
"
- Acts 18:24-28
You behaved predictably, coming out with such a lame comment like this grin grin grin
Apollo, as you so clearly outlined, was not tutored by God himself, so I still don't see the relevance of the reference to this discussion at all... Honestly, forget it!

Not suggesting that God's Will is man's will but we know that when a man lives in submission to God's Will, then God does want for a man to have that which he, man, asks for, and He does grant man the desires of his, man's heart.
I have to admit that it is must be different for everyone. I come from an atheistic background, see, so was not a prayer to God for desires person nor a submit to God person since there were no Gods to pray to as far as I was concerned. But when Jesus grabbed me and I looked back, I saw that at every step of my life, everything I really needed was there for me through no design of my own. So, my relationship with God is not as my desire fulfiler - since God seems to want to fulfil my needs even when I stuck two fingers up to God - but as pointer of me in the wisest direction to go God.

I still don't pray because, personally, who the fuq am I to pressume to know the best desires to demand of God - I just let God make use of me instead knowing tables are prepared before me and my enemies and my neighbours to the Glory of the Lord God Almighty.

And the very same God is more than able to reach His own wherever and whenever they are. It happened to me, so I believe that it can happen to millions of other Nigerians who are desperate for God but not certain why they are still unable to reach the Father, even after so many years of hoping and believing.
As you may have understood from the above, God reached me where I was, but if you doubt my atheism, go back before 2019 - though you might suspect I got on a fence way back. You'd in fact notice atheism in all my posts if you look carefully since God never purged me of what I know. I do not believe, for instance, and like seeing evidence so I know.

Yes, it "can happen to millions of other Nigerians who are desperate for God but not certain why they are still unable to reach the Father". Unfortunately, as I say, if satan can meddle in the Garden of Eden why wouldn't satan meddle in peoples' minds and make them unable to reach the Father?

"Hoping and believing" does not cut muster, because, as I've said earlier, the work is plenty and arduous, and those who are capable of doing the work are few, because many are far too busy praying for their desires instead of praying for the needs of their neighbours, and definitely not for the needs of their enemies, that one would think the Law was "Love thyself"!

Some, however, [must] go further and put on full armor and stand against the devil’s schemes.

Sorry I chopped off the rest but I have the feeling you already know if I have studied Paul.
