If you didn't kill anyone in self defense, you'll still be charged with manslaughter at the very least. You don't walk away free. She didn't run into the vehicle, the vehicle ran into her, and that's because of the careless driving of an unlicensed driver.

I doubt if the charge of homicide will stick. They should have charged them with manslaughter and reckless/dangerous driving. I wonder why the drivers' brother was charged. What could he have done?

Where is Mrs Chioma that invited them to the base? That woman should be investigated also.

my prayer for you is that you will not make a fatal mistake in your life. People are dying of accident everyday sir, it is just unfurtunate that like you said this one is a star girl.

If this news hadn't surfaced, I would have believed that she was deliberately murdered. I thought the same thing too

But for NAF to hand them over to the police for prosecution, it was not intentional.

Till date, we don't know the policemen who killed Mohammed Yusuf, but we were told that the police killed him. That's sheer conspiracy.

In this case, we know the identities of her Tolu's killers. They probably did that out of jealousy not that the Airforce asked them to.

There is no conspiracy, it was just an unfortunate circumstance. Similar incidents have happened and it's very sad. 2020 is an unforgettable year with so much deaths and mysterious events. Just pray hard so you don't get caught in such a situation. I really feel for those guys,it can happen to anyone

Why charge the brother with the accused?
Is he the driver or what?
This is just an accident like every other one seen. The guys will walk away with probably the accused having a light sentence or none depending on how the case is prosecuted and defended.
The only issue I see is the lack of driver's licence.

You can charge people with multiple counts over a single even, from a higher charge to a lower one. One of those will definitely stick.

So they can charge the driver with second degree murder and also manslaughter.

The offense he has been charged with is one which you commit by mistake. Mistake will not be a defense.

what is even sadder is that it even looks like these her friends actually killed her by accident. At the beginning of the story, it seemed like intentional murder and I was among those speaking up for a thorough investigation. But now that the case has been laid bare by the authorities, it looks more like a case of unfortunate negligence at the wrong time. 3 lives destroyed with one stone. This incident has "Satan at work" written all over it. Chaiii.

David was charged with negligent conduct while causing danger to person and property.

David wey dey him house jeje. It's only if he sent them to kill the girl he should be arrested and secondly if he was aware his brother took his car and he is also aware he is without a license.
